Hi dear collector community,

I am not planing on selling this coin. However I am wondering if this coin is still valueable - besides its facevalue - to the collector (well, to me it is, I guess, but I'm not a pro).

The coin has quite noticeable mintage-flaws on the front and on the back.
So, I'm posting this just because I am interested to hear if this kind of flaw appeared on most of these coins and your thoughts about it in general, especially in regards to how this affects its collectible value.

Thanks guys!

Here is one huge photo:

There is always variation when it comes to collectibles, especially coins. No 2 coins are identical and variation is expected.
I assume CI have a quality assurance process that ensures only coins of reasonable quality are sold on.
Your coin may not be perfect but it is still a collectible. The premium paid may not be the same as one that would grade MS-70 (virtually flawless) but it is still a piece from a limited production.
Giving it a valuation is difficult as it’s worth whatever the market is prepared to pay for it. But in short, yes it still has value (above face value) from s collectible point of view.

My desire for a coin like this would be slightly sullied compared to a non-marked coin (thats not milk spots, right), but given the extremely limited runs of all CI coins, they'll always hold a premium. Especially if/when the collector base grows  Roll Eyes

Maybe you have one of those coins?  I know most were satisfied with the coin and i like the design as well but i believe a couple of the hundred came in a little nicked.

I remember there was an auction for this particular coin design where I believe 3 coins were up for offer as they were damaged. I remember I was bidding in it and hopefully you didn't buy it from someone who claimed it to be anything other than that..

Thanks for the link, MJ. Interestingly enough the coin I have isn't one of those that were up for auction. - I don't have access to it right now, but I thought I remembered its number and it wasn't #48, #58 or #86.

And thanks for your thoughts @all.

@Hhampuz, I actually traded this one and was aware of its flaw, so no worries.

Oh and in case if anyone wonders why I put a watermark on the images: I just want to avoid that the photos will be used to create fake-sells.
