I ordered a replacement fan from a link a guy on here gave me. Fan 3 is at 4,680 fan 5 is at 6,805 the temps are staying at 80c and below been running for an hour. Which is the exhaust fan and which is the intake and does  this seem legit and safe?

The fan type seems good and the temps are decent. IIRC the intake is the slower fan and the faster fan should be the exhaust on S9s. Things look good temperature wise, I'd continue monitoring things for a bit more before leaving the S9 on its own again. I do notice fan 5's at more than 6000 and that seems abnormal for S9s though I don't work with them often- 6000RPM should be the max for QFR1212 fans.

heres my miner status.

its now at temps 85 84 84
fan speeds 3,960 and 6,120
my other miners both fans run at around 5600 rpms and temps stay around 76 should i power it down and order another fan from elsewhere or am i being overly cautious?

What temperature was your machine running at previously before swapping the fan out? It could be a heatsink related issue or you might potentially have a faulty fan. The fan speed's definitely weird on both fans, I would let it run for a bit more and if it hits 90 pull the miner. There's something off here but I can't quite pinpoint it.

Why did you replace the fan? Fan failure due to age and/or dust could mean your heatsinks are clogged as well.

Edit: what's the ambient temperature? Your temps don't seem too bad compared to some of my miners but I have like 25C ambient so YMMV.

You can try swapping the fans with another miner to see if that really makes the difference. Make sure there are no obstructions to airflow or anything else that could affect it.

If it was my miner I would run it as long as it's below 100. I don't know what's "safe". Firmware cutoff is like 120 or more.

The exhaust fan died on my S9(j) ordered on from here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-Cooling-Fan-6000RPM-4-pin-Connector-Replacement-For-Antminer-Bitmain-S7-S9/264267373357

The problem I have now is that the new fan works at a whooping 12.000 + RPM (a bit noisy).

Should i change the other fan as well to reduce to total speed?
Is there a difference between s9 and s9j fans (could i have bought the wrong fan maybe)?

It appears the Fan_CTRL function limitation does not work as the lowest i got him was at 9500 rpm.

On the good sIde i got it on the exhaust side and work tooo good.

I have already tried moving the power from the Fan5 to Fan6 and back to compare (no difference has been noted).

Any advice in reducing this noisy one is welcomed
