We will post big FAQ soon, also we're creating clear plan of future development - wallet (all changes in this plan), tools for coin itself like faucet, projects (really unique) that use Datacoin storage function. It also will be posted when it will be finished and confirmed with team members. Stay tuned !  Wink

If the original developer is not active anymore, it would be a good idea to start a new Datacoin thread that is controlled by the new developers.

this!

Diff calc fixed now! please find it at
http://datacoin.info/calc.htm

there was cron problem, and I was really messed up with that simple issue  Grin

thx for your time and hard work!

but I found one little bug, for example, I put "50" in "Your chains per day:" then click and got a result, but the SUM will be "150" when I put "100" into it next time. It's just sum your number that you put in ervery time and same as the result.

Just to update everyone on a few details.

1. The original developer is not MIA, he just not so active. So, the new development team will not take over the development, but more as a support for the developer. Until such time that the original developer decided that he don't want to do it anymore, then the new development team will take over. Nothing to fear that development of  Datacoin will stop.

2. The mining pool s/w is in development by the new development team. There will be an announcement when it is done.

Regards.

Thanks for the calculator.

I started the client about 12 hours ago and found 2 blocks so far on an old poweredge 1950 I had sitting in a datacenter. The getmininfinfo reads:

{
    "blocks" : 68380,
    "chainspermin" : 3,
    "chainsperday" : 5.62366477,
    "currentblocksize" : 1000,
    "currentblocktx" : 0,
    "difficulty" : 8.99369812,
    "errors" : "",
    "generate" : true,
    "genproclimit" : 4,
    "primespersec" : 771,
    "pooledtx" : 0,
    "sieveextensions" : 9,
    "sievepercentage" : 10,
    "sievesize" : 1000000,
    "testnet" : false
}

The calculator said ~24days to find a block. Even with the 2 or 3x speed of now, am I just super lucky or am I missing something. Is the chainsperday per each thread by any chance?

Yes, but volumes is still low. Some people reported to me that bter has issues with deposit\withdrawal, so it also is not good. We need to get it on Cryptsy.

As if Cryptsy is better, slow deposits (whenever they work) and slow (to very slow) confirmation mails. BTER always worked fine for me, although low volume sucks bad. Anyway, exchanges just serve a purpose when the coin is so young, DUMP (not that this is that bad Wink ).

On a side note, I am still working on an online wallet that will let you (easily) get data from the blockchain and put data on it.
I will post here when beta testers are needed (hopefully in less than two weeks).

Spread the datalove.

Cryptsy is so buggy now... hopefully they'll fix issues soon. No well-working exchange now Sad

Hello!

1. I've added FAQ to the top message of this thread. I hope it will clarify plans. In case something important is missing, please add questions here.

2. Please don't post non technical issues (exchange rates, markets, etc) into this thread because it's hard to find questions I really have to answer.

Hi oocookk5u, amazing work you did and the FAQ answers most questions that where floating on my mind. I am working on a web frontend for people to be able to put and get data into the blockchain.
Is the RPC getdata function already implemented ? You did not comment about it on the faq, using shell commands is fine for now.

Again, great work.

I was inactive on this forum and apparently someone got my credentials and used my account in scams.
I have changed the password and I am sorry for any scam that occured.

12. Who is working on Datacoin project?

I'm working alone for now. I didn't accepted yet anybody into development team but I plan to do this in the future in order to make process more sustainable. Keep in touch and thank you for your support.

Does this means that he is officially dismissing the new development team? If yes, no problem, I'll go back to developing my own crypto currency. Maxsolnc, Mstfck and the rest, seem your hard work have gone down the drain.

Regards.
