Announcing krypte.net BETA

A datacoin service for uploading/downloading data from the blockchain.

This service is still in beta, I will publicly announce it on other forums/threads when ready, meanwhile please help me test it.
  • Register an account (mail address required)
  • If you want to get data from the blockchain you just need the transaction id.
  • If you want to send data (128K max) you need funds for the datacoin fee (0.05 per kilobyte plus 0.05 service fee per download), in order to fund your account, go to Account information and take note of your address, then go to the Datacoin client and just send some funds to that new address.

You can help build the service by reporting the problems you face but also asking for new features.

You can always withdraw your funds just sending your coins to your own address (widthdraw fee is 0.01).
Just like an online wallet.

I have started this service with just 10 DTC from a giveaway by bidji29 , so if you want to support further development send DTC to DLjcy3vu8KhMGbqbEtRcrGQUEweuMpiZqs the funds there will only be used to help develop/maintain the site.

Bumping my post, I would like more feedback on the current features. I am planning to add transaction history today or tomorrow and working on a couple new nice features.

BTW, it's great to have an active developer. Having read the Q&A from oocook5u, I realize there is an education work that must be done to make people understand the different nature of this coin, first of all TX fee will be the main source of coins for miners (if difficulty keeps going up). So it is important to build services for people to easily spend coins.
, I understand it's very important to make people spend it's coins to store data on the blockchain. I am also thinking about expanding my service to other alts in order for people without Datacoins to be able to put data into the blockchain without going through an exchange.

EDIT: PM me if you have problems with the registration process, I have seen a couple of undeliverable mails on the site.

could you please make separate thread for it? I suggest that it will attract more attention

CPU only. Yes, it can, but now you need either powerful computer\cluster, or to be lucky. See threads about external miner, optimized miner, etc.

With a powerful computer you can get about 1 block | day. This is why we are waiting for a pool.

Yes, difficulty is less. DTC - 9.68422669 , XPM - 9.99257505 . Remember that difficulty is not linear, so difference is rather big.

I think datacoin should consider adding in a low value of proof of stake to secure the network and compensate people for hosting the data, as a way of encouraging people who aren't able to mine but want to feel like they are helping.

New thread for krypte.net , I have added the transaction history for the user so you don't have to take note of the tx ID when uploading data.
Would love some more feedback.

I downloaded datacoin and was surprised to see the difficulty at above 9.  I'm just wondering, is it possible to merge-mine this, or at least to re-use the cunningham chains from the Primecoin block chain?  If it's possible, I'd say some clever person is getting a lot of blocks!

Hmmm, I'll address this question to main developer. But now blocks generation speed looks stable (near required 1 block per minute or less), difficulty stable too... Really, I need to clarify that with oocook5u.

That's interesting, and I have been thinking about it also, if in the end DTC could be merge-mined with XPM that would be definately good for the coin, and that would also mean that both coins would share the same difficulty. I can't see a reason why the prime chains accepted by XPM couldn't be accepted for DTC, but they could be chained somehow in the blockchain.

Let's wait and see.  Roll Eyes

Yeah, with the same difficulty and merge-mining it can be awesome union for both coins.
