Yes, alot of enthusiasts are helping, and always looking for people that would like to clone some opensource for Troptions to give Troptions more utility.  We are also exploring some software to ride on top of the Troption block chain to be able to establish local or organizational values, while Troptions itself rises in value and utility.

If someone is good with linux, but maybe just learning Bitcoin, and would like to learn on us and get some bounty too, please contact us.  Alot of us are learning as we are going.  There are only so many Gavin Andresons.

The previous post leads to a topic which as it relates to Troptions is entirely misinformed.
  • Troptions were not only NOT premined, it was set up so that the first 1000 blocks had an award of only one Troption and not 25 to make sure everyone could get up to speed
  • Troptions logo was done in photoshop
  • The giveaway was started many weeks after the release of Troptions and has nothing to do with the founder, nor has the founder donated any funds to it.  The founder has only about 1/30th of all coins mined
  • Troptions has never been on it's death bed.  The mining has had a constant and steady growth pattern

I could go on, but one day, someone with this type of slanderous information will no longer be able to hide behind a "username" and build there attention getting by spreading absolutely untruthful statements.  The founder continue to look for and pay for developers to increase the utility of Troptions.

I would like to see the source of the statements made in the post as if there is a source, it too, is false and slanderous.

Let's have your real name, tk808, and I will give you my verified name through Miicard and your address for process of service.

System is working fine.  Perhaps an antivirus program problem or port problem.  I think their might be some other causes, but can't think of any at the moment.  Maybe try a laptop or another computer to make sure problem is not related to firewall or access point.

It's working fine now since uninstalling the one created with that sketchy troptions_setup.exe, and reinstalled from the troptions-qt.zip instead.

That said, I have a few points I'd like to bring up.

If all you are going to do is edit the FireFlyCoin wallet, at least remove all FFC references from it. Still says "Transfer FFC to another Wallet" when you mouse over the Send Troption button.

Support the -datadir command line option. What is odd about having to make this request is that the FireFlyCoin wallet that you made your's from already supports it just fine.

Why on earth is the default path for the troptions_setup.exe set to root? No one wants their root cluttered up with stuff. That is what the Programs Files folder is for and is the default install location for pretty much everything in Windows.

Thank You for your input.  You are clearly a more sophisticated user and make some excellent points.  The reason the executable file installs in the root is because many newbies have trouble finding the directory.  The old "I downloaded it and do not know where it is Syndrome".  At least someone directing them would know where to find it.  Of course, the installation program allows one to install in any directory chosen.
The cloning process was not done from FireFlyCoin, however, FireFly9Coin was done from some of the coin that Troptions was. This should explain the -datadir.  There are some other labeling errors also that will be corrected on the next update or when we can update to the new version 9.0 Gavin Andresen is working on.

We are always looking for individuals, even with bounty or pay, to help us develop the infrastructure of Troptions.  Someone good with Linux and cloning and willing to learn is fine.

Have you tried submitting troptions to some of the indie exchanges like cryptorush.in or freshmarket.co.in?

The Troptions block explorer is currently not operational.  Is this due to current development work?

Here is the link:  http://troptions.org/block-explorer/

The only way an exchange will add a coin is if there is interest in said coin and there is no interest in TRP.

Maybe it's the name. Maybe it's the lack of marketing. Maybe it's the origin. I don't know.

But look at the difficulty. Still down in the 1K and below. Has a ridiculously low network hash rate because there is like only 6 people mining it with a handful of USB block eruptors. It's the only sha256 coin out there where you can hit blocks CPU mining it solo. Despite how easy it is to mine a truck load of coins to be ready for the day it does hit an exchange, people still aren't bothering.

There are only 30 likes for the request to add TRP on Cryptsy. Mind you, there are coins people are asking to be added that have 100's and even 1000's of likes that haven't been added yet either.

No exchange will even think about touching this coin the way things stand now. And that means it will be difficult for them to even keep the 6 people they have mining it now. Given that there have been many a BS joke coin created that managed higher penetration and subsequently got adopted to exchanges in less time than this one has been around, the reality is of the situation is not good.

If they don't want this coin to be considered dead and buried, they need to come up with some marketing genius to get a whole LOT of people into it, fast!
