Hello.

I've run into a problem.
My 1070/1080 rig boost some of the cards to high before i even clock them.
It is resulting in crash.

From the start, i had to oc it my self when i turned the power down to 80%, but now it is overclocking/boosting even with 70% power.

Are there any functions that i may have turned on or something, like in windows or nvidia control panel.

This is really frustrating

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Just update your Nvidia driver and it should be fine. I think you just need to adjust the GPU position and maybe your cards are too near to other cards or possible you Machine is infected but first try to install the latest driver.
Let me know what miner you are using? and what brand of 1070/1080 you have? because not all brand are the same hash rate.

Solving blocks can't be solved without my rigs.

Why do you think there is something wrong with the position?

2x 1080 strix
1x1080 fe
1x1080 gaming x

My guess would be that this behavior  is somehow connected to the riser. not the driver.
I had something like that  before, when I was connecting to one of my rigs by rdp, one of card was boosting too much, and miner hanged. it was cured with the change of the riser..

As every card is different, even when the same model, may need to find thresholds for each card individually and adjust individually, accordingly.

Thank you for the replys.

i will change the riser if it happens again.
My 1080 card got fried i think ( code 43) so now i just have 4 cards and the rig is working fine.

It will boost even if you reduce power level. If you want to have max control over your cards use something like Nvidia Inspector, it is also much more lightweight than AB etc.

hmm, never even heard about nvidia inspector , but will check it out. thanks
