Recently it was reported that the legendary investor George Soros (George Soros) began investing in cryptocurrencies. The venture company Venrock, which is owned by the Rockefeller family, apparently decided to follow his example – there was information that it also embarked on the path of investment in the cryptocurrency industry.

For more than half a century, since its Foundation, Venrock has been specializing in investments in technology and science. She has invested in companies such as Intel and Apple, AppNexus and StrataCom among others. Therefore, it is not surprising that the venture company turned its attention to cryptocurrencies. David pakman from Venrock, the company said in an interview with Fortune:

"There are a lot of crypto traders on the market. There are many cryptocurrency hedge funds. we look at it a little differently. For us, these investments are more like venture capital," he told the publication, announcing a partnership with the Coinfund startup. "We wanted to start working with this team, which invests and really helps to create a variety of different cryptographic projects and projects based on cryptographic tokens."

Coinfund startup is known in the community for projects such as Coinlist and Kik. Jay Bruchman (Jake Brukhman), a member of the Coinfund team, said:

"We will work closely with Venrock to help guide, advise and support The teams in the industry. We are trying to develop a unique cooperation between the teams, as more and more experienced entrepreneurs and traditional technology startups pay attention to the blockchain."

Pacman noted that Venrock is aimed at long-term work of the cryptocurrency industry and considers the technologies underlying it revolutionary. He said:

"In every industry there are some kind of "guides", the actions of which can suffer both users and companies. The advantage of the cryptocurrency environment is that it is much smaller than such "conductors". Our sphere-venture financing, also acts as a" guide", and this phenomenon should be eradicated over time. It seems to me that a small group of people should not decide whether the project will receive money and whether it will be able to develop further."
