Someone registered the domain stocksexchange.io similar to stocks.exchange and I think it’s a scam.
He’s displaying fake transfers on it under Latest Bitcoin Transfers to make it seem that something is happening on the exchange.
On top of that, the FAQ page is a copy of other exchange pages. The owner was sloppy and left links of other pages (“register” links to https://www.altcointrader.co.za/register and there’s a mention of https://www.tradekrypto.com).

Quoted from the page:

How do I start trading crypto currencies?
Simply register and account with us you may need to update your profile. Once you have and account with us simply deposit money or crypto coins into your sendbitcoin account and you are good to go. Our website is very user-friendly and simple to use!

Where and how do I buy bitcoin?
Right here on our secure trading site https://www.tradekrypto.com. With us you can buy, sell and trade your bitcoin, litecoin and namecoin.

     Last three FAQs are:
Q. test quest
Q. testert
Q. new ete

To me, it seems a 100% scam.

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

It definitely looks like so, especially if you also look at how these cowards make use of whoisguard to cover their main identity. I have seen quite a few of these shitty scam attempts pop up lately, but in most cases the scammers at least put more time and effort in making their site look as legit as possible. Cheesy

I wonder though, how do people find these sites? Was it through an ad on whatever social media site? I think that if enough people report this domain as being a scam, that Namecheap will definitely act and take it down. These scammers can hide behind whoisguard, but Namecheap has all the details they registered their account with, unless they used fake information, which again, is against their policies and can get their account terminated.

To me, it could be either some amateur trying to make his own exchange, or a scam. Most likely the second option because of the name choice(potentially a future phishing site for the real stocks.exchange), the fact that their site was copied from other exchange sites, and the fake bitcoin transactions that were apparently being refreshed in real time, but were completely fabricated on the site.

Just take a look at this copy pasted section of their fee schedule, coinpax isn't up anymore, but still indicates that this was copy pasted:

Quote
We kindly ask our users to take note on Coinpax's policy regarding fee calculation. As our fees are calculated to two decimal places, all fees which might exceed this limitation are rounded up. The rounding up is executed in such a way, that the second decimal digit is always one digit value higher than it was before the rounding up. For example; a fee of 0.111 will be charged as 0.12.

Not to mention that their FAQ was also copy pasted from tradekrypto and other sites. It could be that the owner is the same, but even that is shady.

I would avoid this exchange entirely. No point in using it.

Great catch, if there is something that was being copied without any consent and displaying fake transfers, why would we trust them?

It's pretty much one of the most obvious scams out there. Most of the website isn't even original, but was copied from other websites and pieced together. I don't think it's supposed to be a phishing site of stocks.exchange because its layout is nowhere close to the real stocks.exchange one.

Even if you assume that it's a legitimate exchange, the exchange doesn't have any volume or trading pairs.

Great catch, if there is something that was being copied without any consent and displaying fake transfers, why would we trust them?

Yep, if they are okay with faking bitcoin transfers then that just proves how untrustworthy they are. Any BTC sent to them should be considered to be a donation.

They shouldn't trust with any amount of bitcoin and even a penny. They are not transparent and a company that doesn't show real information and volume shouldn't be trusted.
We need people like OP and let's hope that there will be no trader that will send big amount there.

Fully agree, their deposits of coins from there no longer withdraw, require a form of scans, etc., the links are not working anything on the site except deposits does not work...this is site - Altcoin Trader. https://altcointrader.co.za
