According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

With bitcoin the proof of work is done by hashing algorithms. If I understood your concept correctly the proof of work would be done via network transmissions? That'd be trivial to cheat. Just connect 2 nodes with a direct line and transfer junk with 10+ gbit/s. If that even matters. I mean... how to check for that anyway? Maybe I missed your point.

In my country and a lot of others downloading copyrighted music and movies is legal as long as there is no profit. I feel that your system could be labeled as profit and therefore rendered ilegal. Not that it matters much, but could be a problem.
