So who are we calling "whales" now? Because there is already market control with only them controlling the market? Can you imagine big foreign investors pouring in and out there money in the cryptocurrency market? They know that this market could be easily manipulated and that is what they are doing now. Some of them are trading cryptocurrency secretly now and I am not surprise if they all have their personal accounts with Binance or something. They don't need some kind of new regulation to enter the market, they can enter now and exploit it.
I think that the "whales" are different. Many groups of the large investors are on the global crypto exchange market today. And every group wants to pump and dump the prices of crypto currencies to get the maximal profit. Perhaps, they negotiate with each other, in order to commit their trading actions simultaneously, but the resulting profit should be divided honestly. In addition, there is no consensus between the international groups of the "whales". I don’t see any difference between the large investors or their groups and whales. It’s one or the same thing. Whale is a term that is used to represent those people that can change the fate of digital market by making some moves. Big selling and buying effect the value of any coin greatly and this is the role that big guys play here. Moreover, they are keeping the digital market alive. Maybe you can assume that both whales and big investors are the same thing but however by the mature and regulated crypto market they will have the courage to put an even bigger money into the crpytocurrencies, they don't want to risk their money because the lack of regulation so it's what distinguish a "real big investors" with whales. Also venture company tend to invest into a more regulated things that those without regulation.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/2018-mature-crypto-market-will-draw-more-investment-see-less-volatility-analyst-saysObviously as an investor you understand there are risks but out of all the exchanges out there, i can think of 2-3 that I would personally trust with my money and in my case we are only talking about thousands, imagine a big player with millions using etherdelta or some other retarded exchange, no way that will ever happen. Even big exchanges like bittrex, not long ago, they fucked up and made everyone wait months and months to get your account enabled or verified. Why would any big player invest in crypto when the risk is so huge, there is literally zero safety, any exchange can run away with your money and you can barely do anything. But isn't this is the crypto where nothing is so sure and you can not make proof of stake depending upon what they say when they are developing the projects or market place itself. Its all about the uncertainty of the projects in the crypto which should be more or less depending upon which you can just make your decision whether you want to invest or not. I am the guy who always work on the principle of risk assessment and there is nothing like mature market or regulated one. Thats the personal experience talking about the whole scene here. Believe me I have tried to search investments which you are depicting here but nothing was worth spending time on to.

The biggest attraction for the investors to invest is the nature of the investment they are trying to enter. Of course maturity and regulations are to consider that's why they are attracted with this kind of cryptocurrency hoping that their investment will hopefully earn bigger profit in the future.

Yeah i agree to that, there are a lot of big project ico's today who are earning a huge amount of investors because of their promising platform and some of the ico's are failing to sold all their coins because they lack effort.

Of course, investing in crypto-currencies is a risk, and big players understand this. But also you can earn a lot. I think you exaggerate the problems with exchanges, since it does not prevent anyone from earning millions of dollars with the help of crypto currency.

yes, regulating market will of course lure a lot of Big investors and companies ,But also we'll lose the leverage of the decentralize concept which all this industry is Built on.Besides, they will control the price and small investors will Be destroyed!
It is a common conviction that you only invest your money into any of the crypto currency when you are quite sure that your money will not be lost and that you will end up making some very good amount of profit. You cannot ask anyone to invest in that coin which has nothing to give to the ones who have invested their money into it and that bitcoin needs to do lot of hard work as well to have bigger investors.

Exaggeration? I don't think so. Mt-gox was the biggest and most trusted exchange and what happened? Hundreds of thousands of bitcoins lost. Many other famous exchanges eventually turned out to be scams or got ''hacked''. If you are a solo investor and you see that, how confident can you really be in any exchange when you have literally 0 guarantees? Sure binance looks solid but is it really?

Now it's too early to talk about a real mature market. while he is at the stage of formation. Perhaps the absence of investment whales on it is good for the market.

I feel your point, but no big investor who is really sane enough will want to leave their funds directly on an exchange anyway if they are serious about investing. Nevertheless, I am sure as the market keeps growing, a lot of things would have changed anyway and since we are beginning to see a lot of exchanges trying to readjust to policies and being regulated, this may also be changing the mindset of the bigger players.

It is only a matter of time before cryptocurrency and blockchain technology become mainstream. Hundreds of billions of dollars poured into the local economy. The investment in cryptocurrency is borderless, and the standard encryption market will attract investors from all over the world.
Yeah, just a matter of time, and we are beginning to see the possibilities gradually with the way things are changing pretty fast. Also. Regulation is one thing that would also cause a lot of things to change with exchanges and how that has been playing out recently even with bittrex should have been sending some messages. I am sure the idea of regulation would make some bigger players to start having confidence and we may start seeing some new huge money being ushered into the space.

Big financial intitution already in market, and we can see it goldman sachs buying poloniex. Regulation just matter of time and when regulation comes out, market capitalitation will be more bigger than previous high. Its still good opportunity if we want to invest in cryptomarket

And no big investor would want to hold their coins in their wallet when the price can swing 20% in a day. Any big trader would need to hold his coins in an exchange, otherwise it's impossible to trade. At the end of the day what we really need is normal people to use cryptocurrencies and adoption.

I don’t know what really happened to Bitter or why they are making people wait for months before getting their accounts activated. Maybe they have a lot of members and it’s getting hard for them to handle. If that’s the issue, then they are no good at all and should close down sign up for new users. A market that is not well regulated won’t attract bigger investors, cause people are looking for something even more reliable than that.

The question is how good for the market will be the influx of large investors. Now the market is still young and can develop in any direction. It is not excluded that the biton will replace the dollar and become the world currency standard. If corporate whales sail to the crypto-sea, they will dictate their own development rules.

I can understand that Crypto exchange holds some level of risk in trading with them and also sharing our hard earned money in their trading accounts, and there is also risk in sharing our KYC and other important details with them because they don't have some regulating bodies controlling the exchanges for example like ASIC, FSA, NFA governing the forex trading exchanges and controlling their operations and service under the rules and regulations. I think the mature and big investors will feel safe in investing in the crypto market only if it gets regulated by the respected countries rule & regulations and I can see many countries like India are planning to regulate them.

I think not all big investors and big players are always afraid of the risk, they want to challenge and want to try to face the risk but not rash of most investors if playing in a place that does not have a very high security is reluctant to play there with a lot of capital, so I think it depends on how investors respond to that risk.

This is true , any mature person will calculate all the risks like one associated with safety of exchange. But there are ways to enhance security like using a physical wallet.

Cryptocurrency trading is risky activity of trading so you already aware the risk. By doing the trading, you've understand the risk so all you can do is minimalize the risk by trading not more than you can afford to loss. Human are greed and it's become they nature to earn more and more but only you can help yourself !

The risk of exchanges exit scamming, getting hacked, etc. can easily be negated by not keeping your coins on exchange - even active traders can just move coins in and out every time they want to do a trade. Next, the term "big investors" can be kinda ambiguous, because I'm sure there's a lot of big companies and rich individuals who invest into Bitcoin with relatively small amounts, which in their case means millions. Regulation itself is not needed for Bitcoin's financial success, we just need it to have well-defined legal status so big players won't feel the risk that it might be banned some day by some major western government like the US or EU.
