In this case, however, google also has reviews on the site.

Legit? Scam? Thoughts?

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Nope, that would seem legit. Check out the contact info page. Search the addresses, they are there. So either someone bought about 50 pieces of commercial space for a scam, or you found a good deal.

And they are listed on the Nasdaq

Well, if you are a buyer in the US, you should be pretty well protected. Also, when a company is large enough to go public, thats another good sign because they cant just close shop.

I would personally buy a few here to give it a shot. I have bought stuff from much riskier vendors before and been fine and they looked very unlegit.

According to the reviews it seems they often make price mistakes and will cancel the order. I just sent them an email to verify the price.

I think I found the error.

The manufacturer part number listed is 100323L
That is is accordance with a sapphire 6570.

Think I'll have to cancel my order. I jumped the gun D:

Don't know. I'm not good with anything regarding legal stuff. All I know is original link is 5850. Shopping cart is 5850. Final review is 5850. Email with order confirmation is 5850. Clicking the link in email for order stats shows 6570. :/

I'm going to have my credit card company cancel the charge or whatever it takes to get my money back if this is for 6570's.

Yes and no, worst case they ask you to return it and they refund you. But I'm almost positive this is mislabeled product now. The google reviews state this company is notorious for bait and switch tactics.

Well insight doesnt open until monday. My CC company will open in about 4 hours though, so maybe I can catch it before the charge even happens.

Edit: I got a hold of my CC issuer. At this point, there is nothing they can do. It's up to the merchant to honor my request. If things go south, I can file a dispute and get some or all of my money back.

Get screen shots in case you need to file a dispute, however, you can simply refuse delivery and when insight gets them back, they will refund you.

You "may" not get a refund for the shipping charge right away, but once you dispute with your cc, you should get that amount back as well.
Finally, if you must, file a BBB complaint and see how fast insight resolves everything.

You shouldn't have any problems with Insight though...

If the website allows you to cancel the order, I assume you have already done this? I would also get on the phone with them as soon as they open Monday (I assume you are planning on this too). It would be a lot easier if you can just cancel before they ship. I had a similar experience to this where I ordered what I thought were reference 6950s, but they turned out to be non-reference. I was able to RMA them and get a full refund. The retailer had the wrong model number listed on the website, and no picture. I am now more suspicious about ordering cards online when there is no picture, but of course they can be advertising the wrong card even if there is a pic.

There is no way to cancel orders online as far as I can tell.

Edit: Called them this morning, they confirmed the description was wrong (He even "googled" the model number to confirm it was a 6570. Yes he used that word on the phone. Sounded like a relatively small shop) and canceled my order. No funds were taken from my bank account, so I'm happy Smiley

I did actually read the entire article.  It IS a misprint on their site but no one had confirmed what they were actually shipping.  Actually Insight themselves don't even know what they are shipping as it is a direct from vendor shipment.  The part number could very well be a misprint on the website and in their database.  According to him no one can cancel their order without a 20% restocking fee..."you open it, you own it" were his exact words.

but they were INTENTIONALLY trying to sell them as 5850s in order to get people to buy overpriced 6570s, which by definition is fraud. If they don't give you a full refund when you return, you should take it up with the law.
