Enjoyed the World Cup Final, fitting end to an entertaining month. France deserved the win, although Croatia had a great game too. Match of the tournament for me was the France v Argentina game. 92 unit profit over the tournament too, should've really done better, but I'll take it.

Still 30 minutes to go start the final match of FIFA world cup between France v Croatian as per my prediction the France going to win the game with 2-0 and I am going to bet on France around 300usd I hope that I am going to get back 600usd let's see.

At half time, France are leading 2-1 but Croatia look by far the better team. Both of France's goals came from dubious refereeing decisions - the first from a free kick which shouldn't have been given and the second from a questionable decision on handball. Croatia would have the confidence to fight back in the second half.

Thank you. That is what decided the game, and that is all there is to say.
So proud. I'd never seen one team so dominant and unlucky at the same time in the finals of any sport.

P.S. First goal was an offside too. No VAR on that one, huh?

- Giroud didn't a attempt a shot on target in the whole tournament yet he's a World Champion (and the award to worst striker in this world cup goes to...).

I don't know but I feel that he played in defence more than in offence. He deserves that "award".

Even if he took a more defensive role in this WC, like Griezmann, it doesn't change the fact that he had an embarrassing performance in the WC...not like he cares lol but that statistic will follow him for the rest of his life.

I think Giroud's role in the starting 11 was to be the 'dangerous'   centre forward and pull defenders to himself in order to free more space for the faster wingers Mbappe and Griezmann. I guess this was the reason Didier Deschamps kept him in the first squad and it was working. Giroud could care less though. He is a World Champion with France. On the other hand the naughty Croatian forward Nikola Kalinic who was sent home for disobedience must be foaming at the mouth for missing the silver medals lol

France was a better side and thoroughly they deserve to win the cup. But Croatia on the other hand won the hearts of the people. Though the cup belongs to the France and it was almost after 20 long year of wait they won this cup and will boost them up for the next matches.

At first he was 100% sure it was not penalty kick, but he could not to withstand pressure and remain on its decision. I heard that 3 VAR referee are for penalty kick, 2 against.

No man, VAR is a positive thing. This was the best tournament regarding the refereeing so far. Just remember years 2000., 2002., Euro, World cup, League of champions - the refereeing was at its bottom if it was ever good...

However, Juventus and France examples showed us that VAR can be used in a negative, selective, way too.

So at least in the final there were no upsets. But Croatia should be proud about their efforts. After all, 100% of the team was ethnic Croat and other indigenous, when compared to the French national team which was composed of mostly African and Arab imports.

I was watching a movie in the hall when I heard a guy using Google search (though voice) about Croatia. That place was not mentioned in the movie and thus I thought why was he searching for it. Now when I came to home, I learnt they are doing so good in Football.

I do not follow much of football but what they have done is really recommendable.

every thing have positive and negative effect VAR helped in some cases but using it too much will make refs decisions obsolete at a point that refs wouldn't be needed in a match anymore or and only VAR will be used in every decision made that will hurt the pace of the game and a match will be stretched longuer then used to be also i think that there was some directions from FIFA officials to minimaze VAR in games especialy after Group stages since there was a lot of number of penalty kicks were given and there would have been much more if VAR used more often i think it was a good experience with WC using this technologie but there will be a lot to fix like handball rule it must be clarified because there where some sketchy decisions in this world cup i hope they get fixed in the next one.

VAR is not completely sucks but yeah sometimes VAR is do shit on football, even mourinho says VAR is not that good on football. It's not about killing the momentum but sometimes VAR being used on the bad moment like the final match 2 days ago.

I agree with you, but not hands down. With this tool,  football is still corrupted but is much less corrupted. We are slowly getting there..... If you disregard Juventus case, there was almost not a single game within last 2 years where you could clearly say "they got robbed!!!!!!!!". There are only "small favors" done here and there and mistakes that can, in theory, be justified by words "he couldn't have possibly seen it", or "it's his call and depends on the referee and criteria".... like this final or Bayern - Real game.... And this tournament was the tournament with the smallest number of cardinal errors. I cannot count them on my two hands. In past tournament, they were in almost, literally, every game, I mean, the championships would had ended in a completely different way without them!!!!!

You're welcome, some media call this final game the most unjust final in the all World Cups finals. French are celebrating victory, for them it's not important how that victory was achieved, but in the eyes of the world that Croatia silver medal has a golden glow. Their fans make biggest celebration in in the history of the state, and I heard French supporters are not happy with how their players treated them.

President of FIFA Infantino gave a very strange statement before final match which is a pretty angered some Croatian players and citizens. He say that Croatia is in final, but who could expect it? I bet he is have some other favorite alongside the French, and Croats ruined their plans. Football is much more then a game, money and politics always play their games in the background and prove the old rule "Big fish eat small".

I don't think the problem with VAR is time, players didn't complain about time wasting because of the VAR. And we usually get those 10min in added time.

LOL How is that a "strange" statement?? Let's be honest, before the WC even started, who expected to see Croatia in the WC final? no one, whoever says otherwise is a liar.  What Infantino said was pretty much what the entire world was thinking before the match.

I also don't think there is a problem with that statement. There was only one of our players who misinterpreted it. I don't believe Infantino based his opinion on happenings on the football field, but rather on the expectations before the tournament. Lucius has a good point, but I think FIFA is happy with the outcome - they are all about money, and this actually raised the popularity of the World cup.

Being objective, I must also say that Croatian success is a surprise, but it is not the "what the...." type of surprise for anyone with a deeper understanding of football fundamentals. Belgium and Croatia were the true dark horses of the tournament - so many good players in their best years.....
France is the strongest team at the moment, no doubt about that. And they are also very young.

What I don't understand is why Brazil, Germany, and Spain had better odds then France, but OK..... Probably because France wasn't (and arguably still isn't) playing all that good. All those mentioned are great teams nevertheless.

I am sorry that Uruguay lost Cavani before such an important game. They were unrecognizable without him.
