Ugh, government IP blocking is such bs.

Sorry fellas.
I will not be setting up additional dev servers at this time.
You'll either have to run with the reduced hash rate, or find a way to get around the IP block.
this is a bad solution .. so many users will look for a crawl ..

hi bro, if you dont make one more server you will lose some customers, because i havent found a way to bypass russia goverment block (even using vpn) because your pool connects through ssl (suspected). i think that if you take 3% fee you should provide nice service Wink

This is most likely due to the card crashing.  This can happen due to unstable overclocks and/or underclocks.  This can also happen if the GPU goes over temp.  I suggest monitoring the GPU's power state and temperature.  With the ROCm drivers installed, I find the rocm-smi tool to be the easiest way to do this.

Sorry crocozino, but I'm not actively working on the Windows version right now.  All the time I've been able to put into the miner have go to fixing bugs lately.  I will not be able to get a windows version out any time soon.  I suggest trying one of the many linux mining distros and reading/following one of the many linux mining guides out there.

Thanks Tod. I have been setting fan speed to 50 with ohgodatool and clocks with "sudo /opt/rocm/bin/rocm-smi --setsclk 0 1 2 3 4" to reduce power consumption. Any other tips to have stability?

Also today, I am getting "Dev pool failed to connect."

The dev pool failing to connect is my fault.  There was an error that took out the dev pool for a few hours, it is back up now.  You may occasionally see these errors from time to time as I need to restart it to push updates, but I do my best to keep the down time to only a few seconds.

I don't have much else to suggest for stability.  Just make sure your temps are good, and if you're not overclocking/undervolting the cards should be stable.

In Russia, it can not always connect to the dev pool

I'm trying 2 days (more than 20 hours total) and cannot make this miner to work. I've been following guides but without results. Tried Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xbuntu (16.04) and 17.50 drivers and 18.10 drivers. Tried without ROCm, with ROCm included with drivers, ROCM from Github. Most I managed is for miner to report that there are correct number of gpus but cannot initialize them or something.
What is power consumption for vega 56 on stock settings (flashed to vega 64)? If my psu cannot handle 5 vega cards, better not to lose time any more.

You should not have spent so much time trying to get this miner to work if you're trying to multiple Vegas... ROCm has high PCI-E lane requirements that make it impossible to run multiple, and even without ROCm I've been unable to find a documented instance of someone running a large Vega Mining rig in Linux on the AMDGPU-PRO drivers, the support is just not there.

That's a big part of why I was pushing for windows support, not because I can't do Linux, but because Linux can't do Vega (at least not in any scalable way).

Kerney666 had a lyra2z kernel he dropped into SGMiner which was Windows compatible... unfortunately he won't be releasing that (and perhaps convinced OP it would be a bad idea to release for Windows, don't know what happened in PMs), and that was our best shot at this. I may try and take a stab at it myself, as unfortunately I don't think we'll get to that point with this miner.

I think it is fine that there is no Windows version .
Thinks are just working on Linux no updates no dummy problems and blue windows of death isn't it Smiley

If you want to mine with vegas on ubuntu you need to use
16.04.3 version
4.16.0-996-lowlatency kernel
You also should delete intel-microcode and all i915 modules... I could write manual, but not today ...

Just go by whatever the ROCm github says for system requirements. Confirmed working on ubuntu 16.04 LTS + Linux 4.13.0-39-generic kernel.

I'm pretty much a noob in Linux... But would creating a bootable USB stick with Ubuntu work out of the box? i.e. would it be just as easy as that downloading the miner onto it and hash away?
