The final white paper should be released before the end of Nov. I'll be sure to post it here when it is.

Thank you to everyone who has provided valuable feedback at this initial stage. There's still time to offer any insights/opinions, etc so please do if you take the time to read the draft version. The plan is to formalize the protocol as a BIP by Jan 2014.

Many have pointed out that the protocol may also find use as a distributed P2P (in-person) exchange network, as well as providing an easy mechanism for standardized, redeemable off-line "cold" storage.
