There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

I'm saying there probably is a way, someway, somehow.  I'm just way too tired to brainstorm a solution at this time.

Cryptsy can hold many altcoins, I use Cryptsy as a wallet Smiley

Having one wallet program with different tabs for different cryptocoins would be a huge help - even if they all still used their own unique addresses.

It's a pain having to install a bunch of different wallets on your system and open them all up individually. Of course, the developer of the software could release updated versions of the wallet, periodically removing support/tabs for any coins that have gone the way of the brontosaurus.

Isn't it a little scary to hold anymore that a few altcoins on cryptsy? I'd be afraid to hold more than $100 worth of coins on someone elses server.

what would happen if that wallet got compromised??  You'd be screwed!
Even in normal currency...never hold all your money in one basket!
