It can because only the government have the complete machinery to destroy bitcoin, they can make a law to prohibit accessing bitcointalk.org in order to stop connecting to website.

Creating a lot of digital currencies can output bitcoin from the game. In one theory, all products and services will be represented by tokens. In the grocery store you can pay only tokens of this store, and on the digital wallet will be conditional Fedcoin, Facebook Coin and many others, even special coins to pay for babysitting or metro travel.

Governments want to destroy bitcoin because they see it will destroy the currency of the country, but they will never succeed to destroy this. They Cannot control the bitcoin because this is the digital currency that works through internet connection. Even if they want to banned the bitcoin in our country, many people will make a way to perform bitcoin, maybe they will used a private network that they can transact using bitcoin.

As recently government is banning bitcoin in some countries. Do you think can government destroy bitcoin?

If the Government of the whole country forbids Bitcoin, it is certain that the Government could slowly dislodge Bitcoin. Because if every Bitcoin country has been banned for sure we will not be allowed to use Bitcoin again. I hope there are not many countries that forbid Bitcoin so that Bitcoin will survive forever. I do not want Bitcoin to be ruined because Bitcoin is my only job.

Government has unlimited power and if you want to make bitcoin destroy then it is easy, the government will recruit experts to make bitcoin destroy, but I hope this is never done all government.

From past experience, it is difficult for a single government to destroy bitcoins unless it is possible for most large countries to jointly ban mines and destroy bitcoins. Last year we all knew that China closed their exchange services and ICO business, but this did not destroy bitcoin, and even China's encrypted users have increased.

This kind of news will only affect the price of bitcoin in the interim time. several times the bitcoin is shaken but in the end, it can recover. The government will not be able to destroy Bitcoin, many people argue that the ban on the use of bitcoin by governments in a country will be able to destroy bitcoin. but actually, bitcoin is still there and has a high price and always in want of many people around the world. this means that prohibiting the use of bitcoin may have an effect on bitcoin prices but I'm sure bitcoin will still exist and always have a lot of interest.

I think the Government will not be able to destroy Bitcoin. Bitcoin will survive and live forever. Although there are some countries that ban it Bitcoin can definitely maintain its existence and will not disappoint its users. I'm sure Bitcoin is able to get through this very heavy obstacle.

The government cannot destroy bitcoin but in terms of what they can do, they can only regulate the use of it. The government only banned the illegal use of bitcoin in some countries, but they cannot ban bitcoin overall. With some laws that the government can make up, we are safe to say that they can only impose laws to certain degree that they cannot harm bitcoin but can keep bitcoin at their watch.

I am sure that the government can destroy bitcoin because they have an unlimited resource that capable to do that. but somehow, I think the government still learning about bitcoin and they wonder why bitcoin price is too volatile and they cannot control bitcoin. maybe they need time to know everything about bitcoin so they can make a regulation for bitcoin.

I don't see the government of any country destroying bitcoin they can only come up with policy and laws that would not be  friendly with it, nevertheless bitcoin will still thrive though might not be openly traded.

I think some counties have already tried their best to stop their people from using bitcoin, but still i do not think that they have become succeeded, i think that they still cannot succeeded to stop their people form using bitcoin, in my country our government instructed people to stop using bitcoin and other altcoin but still people are using it without any difficulties.

Yes, recently this question is very often found on the territory of this forum.
The government will use its best efforts to prevent crypto-currencies from taking the leading positions in the market, especially when there is a real threat that crypto-currencies can replace the entire modern financial system. However, at the moment, the capitalization of the whole market is very low in currency, when compared with the dollar.

Of course! However bitcoin was independent, the government exerts a very strong influence (through the media, bans and laws on the use of crypto currency and other means), thus undermining the credibility of crypto-currencies!

it will not be a destruction but it will render bitcoin useless when banned. Governments are capable of doing so with registered business on their countries and if that happen, only p2p transactions will be left. And that kind of transaction seldom happens
