Yahoo! Japan has confirmed that it is entering the crypto space by acquiring a stake in a Japanese cryptocurrency exchange that is already licensed by the country’s financial regulator. The company plans to launch a crypto exchange in the fall of this year.

Yahoo! Enters the Crypto Space

Yahoo! Japan Corporation (TYO: 4689) announced on Friday that it is entering the cryptocurrency space. The company expects to launch an “easy-to-use exchange” for cryptocurrencies in the fall of this year, Nikkei elaborated.

Founded in January 1996 as a joint venture between Yahoo! and Japanese multinational conglomerate Softbank, Yahoo! Japan continues to dominate the Japanese internet industry while Yahoo! has been declining in popularity since the late 2000s.

I am really amazed that while small players can be displaying discouraging attitude towards cryptocurrency, there are big players like Yahoo Japan who are stamping their faith and confidence on this new and fledgling industry. This news should be serving us a big supply of inspiration that cryptocurrency is here to stay and soon can be experiencing a golden age towards slowly maturing.

Being the dominant internet service in Japan they have the ability to change overall people's perception of cryptos in the country. I think they will not be banning ICO ads and other crypto related businesses in their search engines since they are part of the business from now on. Also we need more easy-to-use exchanges these days, so it is a good news for crypto enthusiasts.

This is great that this giant company can join the cryptocurrency world. Declining in popularity doesn't mean that the company will not revived or transformed to something better. Nokia, for example, has not been seen its productions for a long time is now JV with Microsoft.

Its because big players has a more to gain if they jump on the bandwagon early and be sure to profit huge in the next couple of years as we all know that crypto can't be really stop and its very important to them to get in early. Yeah, this should set more precedence, as I'm expecting another house hold name who don't want to be left out to soon enter the picture before the end of the year. I think the golden age has started last year with bitcoin almost touch $20,000, and this is just a continuation of a bright future ahead of us.
