It's a US-based company where you can still anonymously buy bitcoins (up to $1000 per day).  Their price is low so you can get them cheap.  They are opening ACH transfers this month.

But their volume continues to dwindle down to zero.  What am I missing that people would prefer to get their money tied up on Gox instead?

b/c there is no real way to get money in, at least not easily at the moment.

I use them all the time and wonder the same thing.  Once they open up ACH deposits that should make a big difference though.

I used them recently the past week or two however the volume is not there. I will probably give them a try once ACH transfer is available again

I think they are easier to use than other exchanges I have tried. Fast, good prices, reasonable fees.  Huh
Of course they are KYC/AML compliant. It is not a good place for crooks.

Since Dwolla deposits stopped, the way to get dollars into them is pretty arcane and takes too long.  I'm sure that they will pick up when ACH kicks in though.  After that, here should be some good arbitrage opportunity between them and Coinbase for a little while.

Even if the volume is low, you can just "buy market" and still get coins $30-$40 under Mt. Gox and $20-$25 under Bitstamp.

Have to admit that instant ACH to Coinbase was much easier though, and since it has gone up so quickly, probably resulted in a lower price.  (By "instant" I mean that they give you the current price immediately even though it takes a week for your money to get there.)

That's the weird thing about them.   They are like $30 below market.  Why would anyone sell that low?

Perhaps, the answer is built into your question. Those people's money are still tied-up in MtGox.

Coinbase is indeed very easy. Once CampBX implements ACH deposits I'll be the first to buy those cheap coins. The gap will close almost instantly.

Does anyone know why they stopped accepting Dwolla? I'm sure that hurt their volume badly.

They now have ACH working supposedly. Anybody know what their delays are? Coinbase annoyed me by waiting a full business day to start the transaction, then blaming taking 5 biz days instead of 4 on everyone but themselves.

Dwolla refuses to work with any virtual currency related company.  This is a blanket ban and they closed all such accounts.

I have had an account at campbx for a long time but I only just decided to try and use it because they now have ACH.  I had thought to use it to sell 1 BTC last night when the price spiked.  So I transferred one bitcoin over there and it has vanished.  Not an auspicious start for me.  It has only been since last night so not a huge deal but so far no response from support at all.  Too late to take advantage of the price hike of the last 24 hours but at this point I am just hoping I can get my BTC back in a timely manner.

Yes.  I had never deposited there before so I had to create a brand new one to have one at all.

They even let minors (<18) go through KYC, which is really nice (only exchange that lets you IIRC).

CampBx was good when they had Dwolla and will probably be decent with ACH.

One big problem is that if you run into any difficulty it takes forever for the problem to be resolved and it is like talking to a defunct company.

Though that is the same with MtGox though I do not use MtGox anymore.

First seastead company actually selling sea homes: Ocean Builders https://ocean.builders  Of course we accept bitcoin.

They have to comply with US law.

It is not coincident all exchange move abroad so they don't have to deal with US law maker.
