Altdex.org - Altcoin Total Market Index

I'd like to announce a small beta project of mine: Altdex.org.  It is meant to be a market index (a la S&P 500, Wilshire 5000, etc) representing nearly all of the altcoin market capitalization.  Think of it as an indicator of the overall health of the altcoin economy.  The index recalculates every 60 seconds, and incorporates individual coin market caps, the current USD price of bitcoin, and more.  No need to refresh the page, new data is pulled in automatically.

Keep in mind, I'm still tinkering with things a bit.  I look forward to making this even more useful as an indicator of the altcoin economy...  If I can find the time, I plan to eventually introduce a number of other cryptocurrency market indices, both broad and narrow.

Are there plans to put this index on an exchange?

That's certainly a possibility...  I'd love to see this as a ticker on all kinds of exchanges.  Who knows, maybe someday this will be an ETF?  A guy can dream...

FYI - if any users aren't seeing the data update once a minute, it may be due to a recent site DNS change.  Windows users can flush their dns with "ipconfig /flushdns" (run as administrator).

I would see this as a top priority. More advanced financial instruments could be implemented on top of the index.

Locking forward to trade some ALT futures. Think about it...

Definitely, that would be quite interesting.  I'll probably develop the index and site more for a while, but I will certainly be looking into having exchanges trade futures on this index.
