Interested in the opinions of Russians as to what they think will be the outcome of this ban and what will emerge as an alternative?
The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

Don't know, how Russians feel them, but from the side, it looks like a really stupid idea. It gives NOTHING. Just made Telegram more popular and VPN services richer

Earlier this year precisely in the last June, regulators asked CEO Telegram – Pavel Durov to enroll company or face blocking in Russia because at odds with the law of the country. Finally, the Durov agreed to enroll company to regulators but said that the messages Telegram will not be given to regulators even though they asked him.

No result.  Most users began to use vpn. Also Durov said that the built-in bypass means will be added. I personally use vpn and do not have any problems

My friends in Russia say it's no problem at all. At first they were apparently blocking millions of IP address (mostly Google and Amazon) to try and get Telegram to stop working. It did more damage to other sites than to Telegram. After a while the removed a lot of the bans. I think Telegram is still officially banned, but my friends say it works without even using a proxy. Seems like they're doing a horrible job at blocking it. That and/or Pavel Durov is just doing a very good job at avoiding the block.

This whole situation is just a circus. Russia is making a fool out of itself and showing how terrible of a country it is for intruding in everyone's privacy.
This ban is easily circumvented and pointless.
