Telling a newbie it's the best time to get into Bitcoin is irresponsible.
You'll notice that I added the caveat 'stomach the risk'. It depends what said newbie wants. If they just want to transact then it doesn't really matter when they buy. If they want to make money then they have to break off from the herd, ignore their emotions and buy when things are looking shaky. I don't know if it's anywhere near reaching that phase. It might become a whole lot worse. Those who bought when Silk Road was closed and people briefly thought the whole game was over did rather better than those who bought at $1000 when it looked like it was hitting the parabolic curve and everyone was set for life. That's how every market works without fail. It's up to them to decide for themselves whether they've got what it takes to make the right call.

Make sure you back up your wallet regularly! Unlike a bank account, nobody can help you if you lose access to your BTC.

It might be a bad time to invest into Bitcoin today as there's some dispute going on. However buying (investing) today will definitely bring your some money back when Bitcoin dispute is over and then the price continue to soar even higher. I would suggest newbie to invest now if they can handle downfall coming in the next few months. If not, better stay away.

Very good advice. In any investment golden rule is the same: Invest just money you can afford to loose. Also, patience is virtue and people who can wait are usually winners. I'm just sorry that I didn't join bitcoin 2-3 years ago but doesn't matter. I can wait, how long it takes, that value of bitcoin reach old level again. In my opinion, this is still good time to invest in bitcoin.

This is just a storm in a cup, and it will blow over very quickly... everyone knows the block size will have to be increased, no matter what Bip is accepted. Bitcoin will not fail because of the block size. Like one of the previous posters said... Buy when the blood is in the street. The debate going on now, is just two opposing forces trying to achieve dominance over the other to control Bitcoin. The technology will still be there, and the people will still use it no matter what side win the battle. It has just been blown up by the media for some attention to feed their agendas.

This is the best time to invest in Bitcoin. But invest in small quantities on regular intervals for a long term investment.

No risk no reward. Now the time is more risky than before because at the moment with the whole debate going on nobody really knows in which direction Bitcoin will go. On the other side the price to buy some bitcoins is really low now and I doubt it will get much lower if not tremendous negative event in Bitcoin space will happen. So it's up to you as always.

When everyone is panicking, it's the best time to buy actually, noone should buy during a hype. But i would wait a bit more for the price to go a bit under 200, which is a real possibility. After that it should be smooth sail, because all this bs about forks will go away sooner or later.
strongly agree, this is almost the perfect time to buy.

I would say for now, the perfect window to buy bitcoin is aometime AFTER September with all this FUD going on with stress tests and the Dow crashing. And BEFORE June 2016 when the block reward halves. Also before the Gemeni exchange launches.

with the recent talk about the fork and all that is it the wrong time to invest for someone like me who is new to the game
you can stay calm and just try to earn some bitcoins with faucets or micro tasks (bitcoinget, signature campaign) while you learn more about it and become more secure to have a opinion.

If things correct themselves and we all come to a middle ground, then now is the best time to buy (or maybe a little lower between 180 USD to 200 USD). It all really depends on how much you can financially lose and if you are willing to be a long time holder. Currently, Bitcoin/bitcoin is still considered an experiment.True, and as such, one must take great care of how they invest their money and never invest more than they can afford to lose.
