It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Sure. Try any other bitcoin exchange, like BitStamp.net for example.

No, I was asking if you can trade on their exchange without using the website, i.e. any client app, or other device/platform.

Oh! You mean like a decentralized exchange? You might try localbitcoins if you enjoy waiting and Ripple was supposed to handle some of that.

Gox is up again, but it's cracy how much such a short downtime can influence the actual usd exchange rate.

You have to reload a few times. It's working here. I think they have issues with their load balancer.

Folks, for a good alternative try Bitstamp. I'm in no way affiliated with them, but these guys know what they're doing and everything is working well.

MT.Gox won't let me log into my account. No error messages. Just after I type in the password and username it just sits their. Doing nothing.  Huh
