This is an interesting project.
I do have questions regarding your project and suggestions:
Questions:
- is there any similar project in the market as of this time ?
- Will it be a subscription based service or is it pay per email sent (pay as you go) ?
Suggestions:
- i do think that the service should be subscription based.
- maybe be the service can be monitizedwith advertising.
, Should the AD monitization provide the service for free as of the first subscription package and then provide paid subscription packages.
Hi, thanks very much for your interest.
We don't know of any other projects that are exactly like CodeMail.
There are of course secure email providers like Tutanota and Proton Mail and secure messaging services like Signal and Telegram.
We are fans of these but these are not decentralized solutions and each have had issues around centralized control and privacy - DoS attacks, falling under jurisdictional control, requiring your mobile number for registration and others.
You can find detailed info on the website and in the whitepaper regarding how the cost will determined.
https://codemail.tech/stamp/Basically, there will be a small cost to send and store information - no cost to receive.
The Stamps token will facilitate these transactions.
You will be able to receive Stamps for lending out your resources to the network.
So, there is an incentive and chance for profit by contributing your disk, processing power and bandwidth.
You should be able to offset the cost of sending and storing data by becoming a node operator,
and we hope this is what most people will do.
Thanks for the suggestions, but to seek and allow advertising into the platform could be detrimental to the basic values
of CodeMail - privacy, decentralization, freedom from censorship, open-source. We do want the platform to eventually be
entirely owned, managed and maintained by a strong community of like minded members who believe in these values
and want to see an end to an internet run by a small number of tech giants that exploit our privacy for profit and try to censor
and control the public narrative.
Thanks.
