Even though there is a huge dump last April 17 when a whale sold his 6500 btc but the market have recovered fast and the value rose back again to 8200$. It has come down very low in 2018. It's price peaked in the year 2017. At the beginning of the year, the price came down a lot. There is complete faith in bitcoin. The price will be revised again. Technically, the volatility of bitcoin is what makes it reign on the market over the past years. Its value may decrease due to certain events and circumstances, but it would recover soon after. The problem nowadays is that, people tend to generalize and conclude that bitcoin will end soon, which I think is far from happening. Just to give you an example, last month the prices of bitcoin were around $7,500. Currently, its price is sitting consistently around $9,500 and will reach $10,000 soon.

What makes the society skeptical is the media and collective influences from other investors as well. Most newbie investors who do not even know about bitcoin (who just invested without having to search for its background) tend to complain about the recent price drops, where in fact, it is a common scenario in the market. I dont treat any amount higher than 1$ as bottom for bitcoin because bottom for me means zero. What I mean is, even though the price goes down sometimes, you dont have  to let yourself be worried just because of the sudden decrease of value because it is sure to increase at any moment. There are always some rapid and sharp drops in price to always look forward to which I believe anything can still happen. I normally do not use present moment to judge the state of bitcoin since we have seen the market hit some levels before and still ended up going back below that level even when it was once a huge support. The market will always do anyhow as it wants or pleases, but calling the bottom at early this year when we have not even gotten past $12k is really not it for me.

Or maybe what we are seeing is that the bears season may finally come to an end. From the last bottom of $6500 to the current price of above $9000 indicates that investors may have been renewed their interest once again. So its time for us to recover and we might see the price goes above $10000 in the next coming weeks. The price keeps fluctuating though in the last couple of days but I don't think that its a sign that we will dip further. It may be really a sign that good things are ahead of us and the possibility of hitting another all-time-high at the end of the year is not far off.

The consistent increase of trading volume across major exchanges are confirming the in-flow of new investors which may take bitcoin prices beyond $50k too.

It's not really that new investors are jumping in, but more so that there was a lot money that comes from securing profits at near peak levels waiting to enter again. New investors need confidence in order to start jumping in, and that confidence needs to be in form of an increasing price. Once we smash through the $10,000 level that confidence will get a massive boost, and new capital will actually start flowing in.

Another major contributing factor will be that more and more large parties are focusing on private deals to obtain a large number of Bitcoins, and these coins will likely come directly from miners. It all comes down to a lack of trust in current exchanges, which I perfectly understand. In other words, with less lessing pressure from miners, the market will face even less resistance in the forthcoming years. It's pretty safe to say that the OTC market has already surpassed the regular trading volumes, and the gap will keep growing with how incompetent exchanges are.

IMHO, after this rally there may be a pretty big correction that take us down to test the support at $6k, which may not hold up. That's a good signs of bitcoin to slowly gains its value and even if the bearish continues to affect the price to be more volatile, at least we have hope for our holdings. The IMF have put out a new report which is much more positive towards crypto than it was before. This is great news and encourages widespread adoption. It could mean that yes, we have hit the lowest point for BTC for 2018

In case panicking it is better to be calm and think some strategies to turn it into a positive one like buy and hold it for a long time. I have been saying this for 3-4 months now. Anything lower than $5.8k is unlikely at this point, it can still go down a wee bit but it won't for a big drop.

We already hit the dip and now we are either going to go up or we are going to swing small amounts for a long time like back in 2013-2014 times and wait until a next big rush happens, without that we are not going to get a decent return or we are not going to see a big drop neither. We better get used to these prices because it looks like it is here to stay and not going anywhere anything soon. The price of bitcoin seems stable for now and standing there all comfy.

Moreover, I just have another concern over OP's statement. It is useless to expect the market to do exactly the same that it did the previous year, I know that everyone wants that to happen again, but I really do not see the market being ready for another bull run like that, so the best thing that you can do right now is to protect yourself and not sell your coins for such a low price, if you do that and you can wait until the market recovers then it's likely that we will reach a new all time high and at that moment you can sell if that is what you want.

Patience is the best thing to do at this very point. No one can say exactly that this is the bottom for 2018 as the price is really struggling. So we can hold rather to be in panic sell because of the strong fluctuations of the price.

  Its good to be an optimism mate, even the current prices are declining still we have to hold our coins for the bright and secured profits when the stability of the market will occur .
