My sources have a bitmain release in Oct at best.

So  we have

 the S-9 long time king  of sha-256 known to break a lot. mines at about .105 watts a gh and 14th

 the t-1  only makes its 0.093 watt per gh spec at under clock to 14.5th and mines on only 4 pools due to pool ops refusing to adopt new tech.

 the avalon 841 does under 0.099 watt per gh and mines at all pools  but has a heat intake issue you may need rooms to be  at 30c/ 85f or less.







If the bitmain gear does come in Oct-Nov I wonder how well it will mine .  I hear rumors of  20th to 21th and  1350 to 1400 watts

Zero confirmation on this gear. Just some emails from people.

BTW I also hear rumors of other gear due in Dec and Jan

If you read the email and everything on the Bitmain site you will notice they DO NOT have ANY official resellers.

The only official way to buy their products is via the website.

You don't think they have resellers that buy from them in bulk? Official or not, those relationships most likely exist. That's just good business.

MyRig has had a long relationship with Bitmain. Dates back to when myrig was bitmain warranty.

But bitmain does not call them a reseller.

Yeah, I'm sure if you emailed them and said you wanted to buy like 2000 miners ASAP, they would be happy to work with you.  The guy is right that there are no official resellers, but pretty much any business out there offers bulk discounts, especially when they aren't selling out their current stock.

"resellers" - yes, as in those who resell them on ebay, Amazon, etc. However they are NOT Factory Authorized re-sellers such as Canaan has set up.
Huge difference in that non-FA resellers means ZERO FACTORY WARRANTY if you buy from them and the miner goes titsup. Maybe the reseller will help but odds are not because Bitmain only gives support to the original purchaser/user and does not support equipment that has been resold.

Factory Authorized distributors like Canaan uses means that if there is a problem both the distributor and Canaan will back you up with full support/warranty. And btw, for Avalons that is a 2-year warranty.
Personally, if I'm spending several thousand $$ I damn sure want a warranty!

If this listing is legit, it seems the S11 will have the same number of chips as the current S9 and they even managed to push more hash (almost 2x of a 13TH S9) out of the BM1387 chips that power the current S9s with the miners running more efficiently at the same time. Quite impressive if these specs are actually real.

To add, these people did not have pre-orders for other machines such as the E3,Z9, B3, etc. They dont seem to have inside information on other machines but they have it on S11 lol. Also the BM1387 is the T9/S9 chip lol.

It is possible that there is an S11 but if bitmain release an S11 now, alot of people will be pissed. They dont have any real competitors right now for bitcoin anyways. S9 pricing is too good to pass up against competitors. No reason to release an S11.

U r partially right...they r one of the best out there speed to power wise at stock speeds which isnt achievable with other machines right now but to be fair others r close. I personally dont like them and have made that known but halong has a miner that can be underclocked even if it is cheating with asicboost and not pure hashrate like the s9 is. If bitmain has the s11 in hand and r plannin on sellin them soon that would blow every other miner away for probably years to come again. So far 2 other makers that i know of tried 10nm chips and both were unable to beat the 2 year old antminer s9. No one can deny that holdin that title for 2 years deserves a pat on the back.

With a new antminer i hope they return to a previous design with a solid heatsink with actual thermal paste not thermal adhesive like they have been using since the s5+ miners. I know it will take up some more space but the ability to use high quality thermal paste and have quieter fans with more even heat distribution (since the heatsink will be 1 solid piece all the gaps between the current design would help evenly spread the heat over all the chips instead of just that 1 chip) would deff make up for that added space in my opinion. I know others in data centers r more worried about density and the more they can pack in the more they make everyday but in my care im strugglin with findin enough power to run all my machines...i have the space...tons of space but not enough breakers in both locations to handle the load of more machines so i have to figure that out or stick with the 2 locations i have now :/.

A solid heatsink is a terrible idea. It holds its thermal load much longer than individual heatsinks and has less surface area to dissipate with. Go check out the Avalon6 if you want to see exactly how NOT to design a heatsink.

And epoxied-on single heatsinks make a miner unmaintainable and unrepairable. They're great if you want super high density, but super high density increases the chances of failure - so you'll need maintenance and repair.

Avalon6 had issues in part because of unreliable pressure for adequate surface contact, and by design an increased risk of shorting through the heatsink. The chip design also still pushed a lot of heat into the PCB which may not have been handled properly.

I think the primary reason Bitmain switched to individual heatsinks, besides being able to pack stupidly unsustainable density, was to decrease the risk of shorting across voltage nodes in a string configuration while still allowing both top-side and PCB-side cooling. There are other ways to handle it, but you have to admit having a heatsink soldered to the PCB is about the best thermal contact you can get.

Of course, you don't need that good a contact if you aren't operating at 6KW per cubic foot.

I tend to prefer solutions like the S3 and New R-Box utiilized, where the PCB was sandwiched between monolithic heatsinks. This ensured even mating pressure for all chips, plus heat dissipation from both top and bottom. Both those miners used low-volt parallel VRMs rather than string topology, so additional care must be taken to avoid shorting, which will likely reduce thermal coupling into the bottom-cooling heatsink.

Individual heatsinks only have more surface area if you design them to have more surface area. Look at the S1/S3/S5 main heatsinks for reference.

The cooling of multiple tiny heatsinks isnt even especially on the s9’s since they r often put on at varyin angles making airflow harder. Some chips will get more cooling than others. With a solid one the fins would be in a perfectly straight row and it would have the added bonus of transferin heat from other chips that r hotter to chips that are running cooler. It doesnt allow the density like sidehack mentioned and im not sure ne one likes the epoxy idea. I liked the old screw and tension spring method but they get paid the big bucks to design these things not me. Even so many do agree about the epoxy part lol.

There is a huge difference and yesterday they started to dump their S9's completely on us. Who's stupid enough to buy S9's right now?
