Hi all, Just reading this post explaining merit system: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0

It says that half merit received will turn into sendable merit but in my case this is not so.. Can someone please advise?

You should probably have this thread moved to the Beginners and Help section where it fits in better than in Meta.

Regardless , you have received 3 merits. That gives you 1.5 sMerits to award others. You already gave one away, so your virtual balance is of 0.5 sMerits. Half’s cannot be given away so will have to gain at least another merit (which would give you 0,5 sMerit more) to be able to have awardable sMerit.

Basic rule of thumb: for every two merits you receive yo can give one sMerit away.

I've read, I believe, somewhere on the forum that there's some kind of merit bug where you send 2x the merits by refreshing the page by mistake? But I'm not sure if that applies in your case since you have 3 merits total, and if you send 1,  you have 0 to send.

You only get to send merit once you have 2 increments. That's because you only get 1/2 smerit for every 1 merit you get. So you need 2 full merits received to send 1 sendable sMerit.

If you have 3 and sent 1, you have none left to send, so to speak.

in a good mood and was just about to give you 1 more merit so you could send another, then I checked your posts and see its all airdrop and bounties... avoiding that shit will give you 100x better chance of getting merits than now!

Aha, i did wonder how that was looked upon. Although is there a reason i'm missing why its frowned upon? Thought perhaps if promo stuff and honest discussion were kept seperate it wouldn't be an issue.

Also, not to pick a fight but all you senior+ members seem to have signatures promoting various ICOs so don't we all do it?

Nope.
