Greetings,

I would like to get a serious miner.

I can pre-order the 2TH/s TerraMiner IV or the BFL 600GH/s.

TerraMiner is standalone and has far supperior hash rate.
BFL Has no real advantages.

Is cointerra reputable and likely to ship items on time?
Is it likely BFL will break their trends and ship on time?

I am pretty sure I want the 2TH system, I just have never heard of cointerra before.

Hi,

with the TerraMiner, you will get one of the February batch at the earliest. If you have to wait anyway, then probably you could check out some other sources as well.
There is an interesting discussion going on at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=330665.80 about a new Chinese source. Perhaps you want to have a look on that.

I waited for my Butterfly Miner from March to November. The good thing is their hardware is real. I guess their next generation will ship closer to their timeline.

But if I look at BlackArrow e.g., I see more GHs per $...

Best regards,
Peter

BFL has a horrible (well deserved) reputation.

Cointerra seems pretty on the ball to me. I would go with Cointerra, hands down.

You are too late for both of them.
Wait a bit for new things to be announced (KnC is currently sold out on everything, so I guess they are preparing something big, and others)

How do you mean?
Any btc mining profitability calculator I can find gets good BTC with 2TH.

EDIT: at 2billion difficulty which will be late 2014?
Total Hash Rate:2000000 MH/s
Average time to find one block: 49.71 days
Average daily revenue: 0.50291419 BTC ($260.01)
Average daily electricity cost: $0.00 (0.00000000 BTC)

I'm sure I will more than break even as difficulty is still under 1billion atm.
I expect btc is likely to continue to rise in $ value as people realize how much banks suck.

The values at today's difficulty
Code:
Total Hash Rate:2000000 MH/s
Average time to find one block: 15.15 days
Average daily revenue: 1.65029855 BTC ($853.20)
Average daily electricity cost: $0.00 (0.00000000 BTC)

As far as the electricity cost, My electricity is free with my rent.

Do some BFL searching and be ready to read. I cant speak for cointerra. I like Black Arrow and had a good experience with Bitfury via Megabigpower.  You take your chances with any of them at this point in time.

Good luck

Yea, I was thinking about buying a jalepeno at one point.
They are still trying to delivery those from pre-order.

From what I read, I am thinking cointerra may start offering their products in a non pre-order fashion,
aka buy today and ship in a day or two.

At any rate I will not have the money for at least a few months, So I can see where things go.

Did you decide to go for the TerraMiner? I ordered one on the 19th and just missed the Feb batch, so it's the March batch for me. It's a bit of a gamble, but it seems that in the mining game, you have to gamble to be in with a chance. I'm currently mining at 80gh/s, but that won't be profitable for much longer. I just hope the difficulty level isn't so high in March when the new box arrives (hopefully).

Anyone else here ordered a TerraMiner?

I ordered this guy:
http://kotaklabs.com/products/kl-yug/

Funny enough, I got mine for $2999 checked back on their site a few hours later and that price had gone up $2k along with the lower end models too. I'm considering myself either:
A) lucky and right place right time
Or
B) screwed

Time will tell since I'll be waiting til march.

Cheers!

Shocked You paid them already?

This is the thread where they announced their business (The photos they posted was so unprofessional and sketchy that they had 2 typos in 10 words  Tongue)

I hope both TerraMiner and KotakLabs are both on the level.
I am still waiting on my funds,
so if they are scams I will get to hear from first batch pre-orders. Smiley

BFL? Never!!
BFL pre-order? Never!! Never!! Never!!

Is it likely BFL will break their trends? I don't know, but I have lost all my trust in BFL already.

So you will have to choose between a company at their first order and shipment and a company that should have done this in the past but we all know how it ended.

Isn't the best way to search for the third option in this case?
Either way , pre-order is like gambling.

You're probably aware of this but it might be useful if not:

http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/

The calculator is nice to play around with and the chart at the bottom of the page give some pretty good info on $/GH.
