Hey Smiley

I see that on minestat profitability calculator that their 6900xt does 62.06mh/s with 124W while mining eth ... does anybody know what kind of settings are used for that result ?

I have mine:
gpu tuning -
  max freq: 45%
  voltage: 71%
vram tuning -
  mem timing: fast
  max freq: 2120

and power limit is -10%

with these settings I get stable 63.7mh/s - 63.5mh/s when I watch youtube Smiley and 70mh/s when going through zil cycle (and my power use is around 150w)
Im using PhoenixMiner

Should be other thread with this info.
Pretty sure 6900xt is same chips as 6800xt just binned for better clocks and lower power.

I run my 6800xt at 1200 core 2150mem fasttiming on. 625mV thru bios mod.
Runs 64mh/s at 136w.
Use to run 64.6mh/s at 137w but for some reason i cant find that sweet spot anymore.
You can get some down to 108w if u mess around with tdp and stuff but I also game so didnt want to push it.

Edit: also try Phoenixminer 5.5c and 21.1.1 drivers if ur stuck getting problems. At least thats whats working well for me.
Lately I have been having issues with it not going to 135-136w and have to keep loading profile and moving core up and down like 10 to try get it so lock to watt range.
Never use to do this always was 137w and 64.6mh/s 100% of time, didnt change drivers or miner or anything. Now im loading profile like 10times to get to 64mh/s Sad

AMD RX6**** series are crap when it comes to crypto mining, how can rx6900xt do 64MH per when RX5700XT is capable of the same massive hashrate and rx5700XT are way cheaper than this so called high end RX6900XT

Lets not make it into stupid AMD one gen versus AMD other gen thing (of course it would be more stupid to bring nvidia into it too Cheesy)  ... 6900xt plays so much better than 5700xt and actually these things are primarily designed for gaming

Im also a gamer but updating bios seems bit too far for me Smiley ... I actually got into mining by trying to heat my room while not playing Smiley I had vega 64 on almost all two last winters and even didnt know anything about the cryptomarket itself, until beginning of this year I accidentally looked into my wallet and I was well surprised Cheesy ... this year I upgraded my main gaming rig video card to 6900xt and I manage to secure 3080 for my home server(home server - place where I create and then solve these problems for fun, kind of way of making myself feel smart time to time Smiley)

it looks like actually that same mining profitability calculator shows that 6800xt have better hashrate than 6900xt. How big is the risk in that bios update ? Does it affect gaming in any way ?

Same here the 6800xt is for my gaming pc, mines when im not gaming. Have a rig of 4x 3070s mining all the time.
Waiting on another riser so i can take 1070 out of another pc.
Never even bothered trying to game on the 3070s, the 6800xt is much better for most games running 165htz monitor at 1440p.

Not sure how much you pay for power but i pay us$0.28 per kw so doing the bios mod was worth it, also runs 5c cooler with less fan.
heres quote from another thread I was getting higher mh/s then.
I have a 6800xt so 6900xt should be pretty much the same.

You want to make a mining profile in the driver tuning just for mining.
With 6800xt i get 64.5-64.6mh/s.
I have core set to 1219 (actually runs 1200 or 1205).
Voltage 625mV (I will explain how lower)
Fast timing on, 2150mhz speed (actually runs 2138mhz). Some people have to select 2140 i think.
Uses 137w in miner software. Undervolt made it run 5c cooler too.

To change volts i used this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N07GTV06_-Q
Original bios file from here https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/?architecture=AMD&manufacturer=Sapphire&model=RX+6800+XT&interface=&memType=&memSize=&since=
Morepowertools here https://www.igorslab.de/en/red-bios-editor-and-morepowertool-adjust-and-optimize-your-vbios-and-even-more-stable-overclocking-navi-unlimited/3/

Re: 3090, if your just using it for mining then maybe 2x 3070 is better option. There are other threads here discussing this, seems most prefer 2x 3070.

There is no well optimized miner for AMD RX6xxx series yet. When the AMD RX5700 video card appeared, it hadn't been mining more than 10MX for several months. And then AMD RX5700 became one of the best GPUs for Ethereum mining.
There are no AMD RX6xxx series graphics cards for sale in my country except AMD RX6900XT. Price about $ 4400 Smiley

6xxx cards are showing up in the US, they only stay in stock for a minute or less, but scalp pricing has settled a lot lately from the dip.

One thing my 6800XT can do, is even undervolted max, I can get around 60mh AND play 2K graphics at 144fps for some older games.
Dips to 50s during heavy scenes.
It feels like it's gonna crash when you first boot up the game, but then it feels like it cache's it and it's smooth no matter what until I quit the game.
Alt tab and such still work but sometimes will lock it for a few seconds.

Once these are unlocked, they very well could be the next Radeon VII which, I think last I saw go for 3K + ?
