Speaking at an Intelligence Squared U.S. debate presented in partnership with Manhattan Institute’s Adam Smith Society over the weekend, Draper said that compared to his early investments in Skype, Tesla, and Hotmail, the number one digital currency would be ‘bigger than all those combined,’ reports CNBC.

Tim Draper is one guy who inspires confidence in people. Many people may give bullish views on Bitcoin, but he is one guy who actually puts his money where his mouth is. If he thinks that Bitcoin is going to be bigger than Tesla, Skype and Hotmail, it definitely is worth taking a punt on that.

He doesn't only put his money where his mouth is, but he entered the market years ago when everything was still more or less a 'fun market', which just makes me respect him more.

If we look at others who do basically the same in terms of having their opinion known, they are all recent hype riders just caring about the value of their coins to later cash out and likely become a skeptic.

Most people who cash out end up being a skeptic, all to justify their decision to cash out. Great thing is that the price keeps going up, which surely must burn inside them now they see they missed out.

Soon, more people would get in again. A claim by an investor like Tim Draper cannot be easily ignored. Surely, he knows what he is talking about because he wouldn't just easily invest into something when he didn't research properly about the possibility of an investment vehicle to flourish in the future. Good observation. When everyone is saying a lot of negative things about bitcoin, Tim Draper is the only one who carry the torch for bringing some confidence in the market even though we witnessed bear market for more than 3 months.

And most of the time, Tim does hit the target, so I would not be surprise it bitcoin price will continue to surge this coming weeks because of his optimism. But as far as bitcoin bigger with the 3 combined, maybe 5 years down, we may see if Tim is right with his prediction.

Why do you wondering when it is very easy to check,back in 2014 he bought around 30 000 BTC for price 600$ per BTC-so he invest 18$ million,and today value is 279$ million ,very good investment.I think he did not stop at that number and there's a lot more than 30k BTC in his wallet.But he is also invest in other coins,I think I've read that it's about 45 altcoins.

I hope that his prediction will be realized in future, I would not have had anything against that he be right only 50%-if BTC can be bigger than Skype,Tesla and Hotmail combined then many ordinary people will become rich even if hold small amount of BTC.

If we take into consideration that a lot also depends on governments to update and implement regulations, where after that everything still needs time to adjust based on these regulations, then it's likely to say that this process can take decades in reality. If we look at how the internet has been developing itself, then that took decades as well, and all applications and uses that come from Bitcoin will only improve as time goes by. Great thing is that with Bitcoin as fundamental layer, everything can be built on top of it to stimulate different types of demands and usage. Even the internet isn't done with evolving.
