cant get 4650 to work on 1x adapter for the life of me [1btc bounty]

So I have 4650 that I dont want to mine with, but just use for svideo out to a tv with no hdmi. My 16x slot is full with a 5830 mining away. I have my adapter, I even tried to short the detection pins and no luck. I was hoping someone could help me out.

Rest of the build is a Gigabyte M68mt-s2p, Phenom 840, 4gb ram.
Any help would be great.

you only goin to get  like 7mh from the 4650(used to have one) but you probably need to short pins A1 and B17

edit: didnt read  my bad. what it doesnt even have a vga. mine came with vga adapter that you plug into the board.

Does the BIOS detect the card?
Does the OS detect the card?
Is it present in the Catalyst Control Center?

Re-installed the catalyst drivers after you attached the 4650?
Dummy-plug attached?
TV-attached to the svideo after hard-boot(power-cycle)?
Have you tried switching the graphics-cards to rule out non-working 1x-riser?

Does it work if you unplug the 5830?  You probably have done this already, but if not, give it a try. If it works when 5830 is not powered, then this will suggest a possible motherboard setting that's disabling 1x port.  shorting the pins on it may work, as suggested above, if it doesn't it may be a limitation

Tried it nothing at all.

Also about disabling the 1x port. Port runs everything fine with network or sata cards. Just no gpu pn the adapters.

you should just forget bout that card it ONLY gets 7mh sell it on craiglist for 30$ that what i did. beside it too much of a hastle for you

Simply plug in both cards, mine on the big card.
