Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

It could be, but the question isn't so much of stellar's promise but as to what coin will be replaced in the top 5. Bitcoin, Ethereum and Ripple seem fairly nailed on, EOS seems to be going strong and if they deliver will likely challenge Ethereum for no 2 spot. The most obvious candidate is bitcoin cash but it still seems to have a lot of support in the market.

What do you think of XLM's potential?
Top 5 in market cap? I think it is possible if many money has been poured in into XLM but the only question is why people will do it soon? Good price movements despite market's bad sentiment wouldn't fully encourage people to invest and buy XLM. It needs more good news for it to reach top , and it also needs to overtake eos, litecoin and cardano in market capitalization for it to have the 5th spot. |

The stellar will affect the ripple in the first 5 digits of the spectrum. because I think the competition of similar coins in the first place will not be good for each other.

because there is a lot of crypto better than stellar

Stellar has done a long long way from re-branding and team re-org of Stellar Lumens to Stellar XLM. Since 2014, i started following this project before the airdrop mainstream, stellar is a freebie coin on some of the known crypto-related website faucets. It has a significant improvement from the new team when Stellar was reborn as XLM. There is no doubt this could be on the top 5 list beating Litecoin as its contender for the top 5.

Stellar has potential, but to be in the top 10 coins having potential is not enough.
While there are coins such as ETH, ripple (hate it but sorry unfortunately is a .hity usable project), OMG, EOS...

Getting in top 5 coins and staying there for extended period of time is not easy since there are so many contenders. Nevertheless, Stellar has good chances of staying in top 20 coins list.

I think it could happen but not in the near future, because the coins on it are BTC, ETH, XRP, BCH, LTC which is now occupied by EOS, I think stellar still need many good stories to occupy the top 5.

It was already part of the top 5 coins awhile back, if you look at coin market cap. The problem is that if it wants to get and stay there, they have to really bring something new that other crypto projects haven't already done. As it is, Stellar is a direct competitor of XRP and their technology is more or less the same. Why would anyone pick and invest the smaller fish when the big fish XRP is already swimming well?

Since the beginning, I was convinced this potentially large enough coins. I still hold this coin since the beginning and is waiting for a big improvement. Indeed it's been promising. but the stellar can be much more than this.

Dan larimer is a part of the stellar team. It looks like it's a bit difficult to say but it will be still below EOS. As open payment system and stellar is worth more than EOS consider from its usefulness. I guess don't expect a lot from stellar, this day it has been getting a pump but it will be back again soon. |

Why do you think that it has much more potential to keep going up? stellar was a very good proejct before, i still like it's devs, but they are acting by a wrong way, in fact, even ripple is much more better than stellar at this moment.

In my opinion, it will be very hard for Stellar to get in the top 5 because we already have Ripple there and the top 5 coins right now have better technology,team and community than Stellar. I think Stellar will come back under NEO soon and the price is pumped right now.
