Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Depending on how much of a fee you included to send your transactions helps determine the amount of time it will take to be confirmed.  Network propagation is a factor too.

btcoin qt sent it with 0 transaction im not sure why. usually it does I didnt notice it till after i sent it already. so basically it has 0 fee. is it lost forever? I have a seperate incoming uncofirmed transaction from about 3 days ago that still has 0 confirms...so basically a 0 fee means your money is lost  on the internet? Im getting stressed because im up 2 btc and now I dont think ill ever see any of it.. is there any way to resend those coins and add a fee? or should i just wait

I had to learn the hard way..same exact situation happened with me before. I deposited money at a gambling site, multiplied my bankroll about 10x, wanted to cash out, so i kept waiting and waiting.  Came to find that I hadn't included a fee :/ It may take several days, or weeks even unfortunately, but I believe it'll come through eventually.  Hope the best of luck to you in your situation.

But lesson learned: never send btc without a fee
