Peercoin just interviewed by The New York Times. As coins such as Litecoin and Peercoin start breaking into more mainstream news, we hope it adds additional exposure to all projects. As soon as the article is printed, we'll update this thread.

Great news. Is this a Peercoin-only article or is it about cryptocurrencys in general?

Whatever, again great work! Keep it up Smiley

Also quite a bit of Primecoin covered as well! Other coins will be mentioned (they even asked us about them),however, the focus is on the top tier. When I say top tier, I mean market cap, by no means trying to insult any other coin.

Thanks for the quick answer. Sounds good.

While it´s really nice to get mentioned at forbes for example, I was disappointed about the "article" there. But when you made the interview and it is really focused on PPC/XPM I hope for a good article and looking forward to it.

Do all these other coins make anybody else nervous?  Like if the market gets saturated by too many coins, people may lose trust in bitcoin (since a new coin with same features can pop up every 2 weeks).  Id still prefer it if no other crypto currencies existed, I think bitcoin would rise faster.

I hear ya. The first step is being even acknowledged that we all exist outside of the crypto community. Once we start appearing in more publications, we'll have more opportunities to craft our message.  I talked to Sunny about this a few hours ago, putting together a strategy this weekend.

Top Tier: Visa/Mastercard/Discover/Amex
Second Tier: Quite a few other lesser knowns

I believe the market will shake it out into 3 tiers:

- Top
- Functional
- Experimental/Hobby

The NYT reporter asked for a list of Peercoin forum members to also interview briefly this afternoon. I sent a list of 5 and look forward to seeing their comments next week. Smiley

I wish he'd consider interviewing some people here, there are a few things I would say about it.

We asked about when the print version will hit the press:

"Hey John I'm hoping it will be out tmrw and on the web later today."  NYT  (Nathaniel Popper) 10:04am est

We obviously can't control when they print it, that's the update I received 2 hrs ago.

You do realize that you don't know what mainstream means?
Most people don't know about either, or just don't care about them.
Bitcoin is not even breaking into mainstream, even though I've wrote it there.

Anyhow PPC is great, and rising as 3rd coin.
