So I made post last night about mtgox  having a "stuck" transaction. It's finally on the blockchain after 21 confirmations and still hasn't appeared in my online wallet.

Are there sites waiting for this many confirmations before it clears or is something up?

Thanks.

Some Transaction Websites require you to log in and out again for it to display...

But in saying that, most sites only require 6 confirmations.
Still Looking to see what others require.

can you post a transaction id(tx id?) also fwiw, sometime syou need to launch bitcoin with the --reindex flag. it will scan the blockchain more deterministically and it takes a while but, you can find any missing transactions this way.

unfortunately, stuck transactions do occur, especially when you pay a low transaction fee, i had one bouncing around for weeks unconfirmed.

My negative trust rating is reflective of a personal vendetta by someone on default trust.

The industry Standard is 6 confirmations only.
So I would say they are busy stealing all your coins.

This is from MtGox website
https://support.mtgox.com/entries/20195237-General-Questions

Q: How long does a deposit/withdraw of Bitcoins usually take ?

When withdrawing or depositing bitcoin into your Mt.Gox account it can sometimes take a while (1~24 hours) depending on your Internet speed, firewall settings and ultimately the time required to register at least 6 confirmations on the network (in other words peer availability).
If you're sending to your computer's wallet rather than an Mt.Gox account, it's good practice to keep your bitcoin client running so it may download the block chain.

For those that may not know the block chain, it could be summarised as the complete history of all transactions made on the bitcoin network, so keep in mind it can take some time to update and download the most current block and see the bitcoins in your wallet. If your block chain is not up to date, you will not see your transaction.

You will be able to check the block chain for your transaction on www.blockexplorer.com by searching for the receiving bitcoin address.

PLEASE CONTACT US ONLY IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE IT AFTER 24 HOURS.

Here it is on the blockchain ..

[removed]

Still hasn't cleared, obv.

I wouldn't say I'm being "scammed" it's a highly reputable site that I use often. And plenty of others use it as well.

Hi, I can help you out with this.

Has it been 24 hours since your deposit?

I sent from mtgox about 24 hours ago it was "stuck" for about 20 hours. So I would say it's been on the blockchain for about 4 hours. Does that help?

You mean, check my e-mail? Yeah, gox sends an e-mail right when you send it.

But I'm up to almost 30 transaction and I don't see it in my other wallet.

What is your 'other wallet' ?

The other place that I'm sending it to .. does it matter if it's bitstamp, localbitcoins, etc? It's just my other wallet.

Either they failed to credit your account or they intendedly cheated you. Most likely the former.

Since you know the owner, contact him and show the txid as proof. He will most probably credit your account back.

ok, if holds true I will send you btc ... post your address .. i'll give updates.

I'm still not fully understanding the 'getting credited' thing.

Usually when I send to this wallet (for the past year or so) it will just automatically get credited. Are you saying that the site owner just chooses not to credit it yet for whatever reason?

They might have manually inspected the transaction and did not credit you. Transactions make take up to 24 hours. Have you contacted their support team?

You nailed it .. when I sent them a message they said:

" the system flagged for manual review "

So that's why it didn't clear.

Crazy.

Sixfigures, being a very new newbie on this forum your quandry caught my attention as I am in a similar situation, except my BTC to USD transaction of last Monday on 24change.com has 444 confirmations and yet nada from 24change. My transaction is on Blockchain along with the txid. Meanwhile password reset requests and emails are not responded to. At least your exchange site seems legit but I wonder if I did not step into legit scam. Is there anything to be done besides twiddling my thumbs and mourning my lost BTCs? Anyway, glad yours got resolved.

Hi

Another newbie query.

I have sent a payment to cex.io and normally it just whizzes through quickly however this time, although it has appeared as an unconfirmed deposit on their site it is not going through the confirmation process very quickly.

Having reviewed the transaction process through blockchain it is down as an unconfirmed transaction and is going to take 21 hours plus I seem to be moving backwards in the queue.  Started at position 1383 and now at 2118.  I have paid the transaction fee etc.

I really don't understand why this payment is so much slower than the others I have made.

Is the system getting a bit more loaded and therefore taking more time to process?

Thanks in advance for any response.

Cheers

ndnhc,

Sorry for the long delay.  The BTC address sent to was 1Aop84L2BxLrj1o6rAufcUrriYk1DF7L7s and the txid is 91296a9896f034a9373211d9514eba6adfa8e4dfcc17189a10166f996ea742e3, now with 525 confirmations. The exchange was BTC to visa/mastercard USD on 24change.com. So far not a word from them for password reset that was supposed to happen in a few minutes last Monday.

Hi

Thanks for you response.

Sorry slow in getting back - shopping and cooking got in the way  Smiley

The deposit finally came through and I was able to monitor it through block chain but I still can't work out why some payments seem to go through very quickly but others seem to drag.  It can't be a time issue as BTC is worldwide.

A bit bemused but pleased that the deposit has arrived.

cheers

You didnt get your payment?

ndnhc, thanks for the response,

I need to log in to complete the transaction or that is what their instructions read, but what I thought was my password did not log in so I clicked 'forgot my password' and  window popped up saying password reset instructions will be sent to your email in a few minutes,...that was over 5,700 minutes ago. I've emailed them (24change.com) several times with no answer also.

So to summerize... 1..I need to reset password to log in and complete the transaction
and.... 2.. I have not got  payed.

What was really peculiar was the instant I clicked on send bitcoins from my wallet and I mean, instant like a switch, my computer shut down erasing their transaction window... very freaky...

Now that I have been freed from newbie prison, I was able to post on 24change.com section of Bitcoin forum. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=254488.new#new. Let's see if I can get a response from them there. It would be a nice Birthday present as today is that day...
