Bitcoin is having a pretty good week—rising more than 11% and breaking above $9,000 for the first time in more than a month. But for Bitcoin’s price to really take off, there’s a missing part of the equation that may hold the key. While Bitcoin surged last year along with other cryptocurrencies, much of that more than 20-fold rise was driven by men. One analysis of Google searches found that 95% of people Googling “Bitcoin” were male, while only 5% were female. The trend seems to carry across to other cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum: According to another recent survey, just 4% of Ethereum traders are women. This is interesting. It just shows how far we must go for adoption. I guess for now, bitcoin just needs more uses. Like more stores accepting it. Easy to use software should also be developed to make it accessible for everyone.

In my humble opinion, women should also participate. I mean not only men are capable of dealing with bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency, but also women are capable of investing in bitcoin and even surpass men. Some women are really interesting and they are into these kind of things. But they have not been introduced to the crypto world, and even if they have, I do not think they would be as interested as men

There are definitely women who are interested in Bitcoin, just not as many as men it seems. I don't want to get in trouble by explaining the reasons for this, but generally men are more interested in risky behavior

Not to sound stupid, but how does Google determine that the person using their search engine is Male or Female? I know they have some pretty good algorithms to determine certain characteristics and browsing habits, but can they also determine the sex of the person using their browser or do they use pre-configured data <Which might be fictitious> to get this data?
Yes, I do not doubt for one moment that women needs to use Bitcoin more, but how accurate are Google's statistics?

Most of the people use Google accounts: 99% they wrote their true gender when signing up. If they never turn off their google account while googling then they are basically giving away their demographics to Big g. Easy

Don't understand why such a feminist approach is used here. Does it really matter?

Women are less risk-taker than us men so I don't really see them going crazy in bitcoin. They can go crazy in bags or any fashion wear but not on a financial investments so it's just normal to see a very low percentage on this study.

what is so surprising about only 4% of traders in ETH being women but Googling "bitcoin" or "etherium" and actually trading are two different things,so the data is skewed I don't think that the figures are way higher for bitcoin, maybe around 10% or so,not more than that
how many women are there in the top 100 Forbes list? there is nothing sexist in this,it just how the things are in our society at least at the moment

was this thread bump really necessary? Women aren't into crypto that's a fact and I don't think them coming into crypto will make a difference. let's move on

If BTC icon was pink then 99% of women would trade. I guess Satoshi should've think about that, it's his fault.
