I started a thread on Fit to Talk to try to guide new members of Bitcoin Talk into good habits, but I'm not getting any feedback on it. It needs a few more posts to complete the series. Please can you let me know what you think of it, and I'll complete it if you think it is worth it. The thread title is

I think it´s a very well thought out and expressed top-down approach to how posting should be approached. Being it a work in progress, the general intention to posting is extensively covered with reputation of character being an overall goal.

Perhaps you could add additional information on examples of what is considered good posting vs unfit posting, since many newbies/Jr Members (at least) will need guidance by example. Language role may also need to be considered.

Some brainstorming as to how bounty posts fit into the equation may be interesting (not how to respond to bounties, but how they weigh-in against conventional on topic posts in one's post history and thus character).

I don't think it's a bad idea at all... any sort of effort aiming to help newbies gain some ground, especially in forums like bct where it can be daunting for the new (still daunting for me even after a year and a half in the technical sections!), but I'm not sure if it isn't a lost cause. Maybe I'm overestimating people but those willing to learn and honest about trying to contribute make the effort to find out what's acceptable and what's not.

I also don't know if there should really be a guide to what's good and what makes for good reputation. Part of the appeal of this forum is the diversity of people. I enjoy some of the trolls, some of the less serious banter, but also some of the "techno nazis". If we all followed some kind of guideline, it might kill that diversity, no? You said it in the post yourself: your identity, your personality, your motivation. That's really precious for the community. I think that should be allowed to grow and develop organically.

That's a great idea to make such guide but your posts seem to be a bit incomplete and bad designed which makes them harder to read.
Also you have put the main accent on thread creating while most of the spam is just a garbage comments on the  existed thereads (which are also spammy). You can make some more statements about general rules of "good posting" and design them as separate statements.

I like what you've got going on with formatting, but I feel people forget how to insert clickable URLs on the forum way too much, even some members that are pretty old here. A long bitcointalk link adds unnecessary clutter when a simple use of URLs (the globe with the page next to it) fixes everything and keeps things short and concise.

Code is also important to use for things like miner specifications or other information that's long (especially information that is copy-pasted that isn't outright spam). It's a bit difficult for me to say exactly when to use it right now, but it definitely tidies up posts a lot and it improves thread loading speed for us all, and removes the need for us to scroll down a lot just to see one post.

Some images may also not go through the Bitcointalk proxy, especially those hosted on Imgur. I find imgBB is an excellent workaround to this. IIRC new members can't upload images unless they purchase a Copper membership, but it's definitely something you need to know to be successful at posting here. Images can be inserted by clicking next to the URL globe-and-paper symbol.

I think it's great someone finally took the time to show newbies how to use the forums correctly. My only hope is new members actually go to your page and learn the ways of posting; most people will probably not take the time to do so.
