Many believe if something appears too good to be true, it usually is.
So my question is, why does everyone think they'll get rich quick off of bitcoin if this is a common thought process?

I sent you a message. Also I am not saying anyone will get rich at all. Just some profit. And what i do has nothing to do with Bitcoin. I was going to liquidate it, or as my first post stated other methods of payment.

How about this:

I'll promise to invest $500 in BTC.
You put $687.50 in BTC into escrow. (Super Secret Money guy pays fees). Instruct escrow agent to fwd those funds to me after 10 days. (187.50 is 37.5% profit - based on an average of your range for $500 investment and a 10 day unit).
Once i have confirmation of the escrow deposit and a signed email from the escrow agent that they will fwd my funds in 10 days, I'll send you $500 worth of BTC.

k?  how's that work out for ya?

but that's basically what you're asking potential 'clients' to do, minus the security of escrow.   Why would you expect anybody to trust you? Low post count, crazy, unsubstantiated scheme to deliver what are pretty huge ROI in very short time frame, combative/insulting attitude whenever anybody questions you....

You really didn't think this through, did you?

That is understandable. I just joined last night and a mod decided i was a scammer and gave me neg rep, but it's ok. I believe that it will turn positive soon.

Can a mod add [possible scam] or something like that to the title of this thread. People, it should be obvious but do not trust some random person on the internet to do anything they say they will do. Once you send Bitcoin you can not get it back.

yeah, especially when the OP has come right out and admitted he is not even a Nigerian prince or anything

This is not some pseudoeconomic post-modern Libertarian cult, it's an un-led, crowd-sourced mega startup organized around mutual self-interest where problems, whether of the theoretical or purely practical variety, are treated as temporary and, ultimately, solvable.
Censorship of e-gold was easy. Censorship of Bitcoin will be… entertaining.

I doubt he made anything that advanced.  Perhaps a hit and run Con Artist that lost his ways.
