Hello:

I would like to purchase some bitcoins and pay via paypal. I realize trust is required in the case of using paypal so I offer that we start off with a small amount (say $10 for 10 bitcoins). Provided things go well we can start establishing more regular trades. PM me and/or post here if you'd like to sell some coins.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

If you join bitcoin-OTC, there's a semi-automated system to rate people, I'd highly recommend you join it. If you do there are people who would be happy to sell you coins.

Great advice. Registered and working on getting a cloak. Post here or on bitcoin-OTC if you'd like to sell 10 bitcoins for $10.
