it's 20 bucks jesus don't you have anything better to do with ur life than write a thread over 20 dollars.

donate it

buy a pack of smokes a bag of weed.

roll it up in to a tiny tube and insert it in your anal cavity and absorb it

heck even give it to a hobo

i'm trying to decide what the right ethos is when finding money.. it's not just for $20, it's for everything i find in the future.

i'm keeping the $20 dollar bill, and i just made a donation via paypal to the red cross.

If you want to do something nice give it to someone who looks like they could use it. I wouldn't worry about the original owner, for one it's not a lot of money and secondly I don't think you'd likely find the owner anyway. I think what happens is when people reach in their pocket to take out their cell phone, they also accidentally pull up and out small folded bills. If this theory is true, I wonder if people have been dropping more money since cell phones have become popular.

it was on the sidewalk in front of someone's house. what am i to do? if it were a wallet, i'd definitely return to the owner with all the money intact.

i'm not sure that it belongs to the people in the house. if i give it to them, then they just get $20 that is not theirs...

i'm thinking the best option is to donate it to the red cross.

You do that!Nice thinking  Wink

If it were $200 you should probably give it to the police, but $20 is a small value, I would just keep it.

With such little amount, I would imagine they would just tell you to keep it.

i imagine he'd thank me and give me a pat on the back for being an honest guy. then he'd take that $200 and deposit it.. right into his wallet.

Why do you guys love to hate police? Most of the police, at least in my town, are normal people, and aren't after anyone that doesn't rob, kill, or sell drugs.

they are pretty fucking corrupt. outside of racial profiling and treating minorities like shit, they go to lengths to cover up all the seedy shit that happens there (look at the dorner case for example). there are lot of cops who use their position to bully businesses to make money for themselves too.

You take the example of a few police officers, and use it to represent the 99% that are kind, helpful, and just want to help people, not piss on minorities,

you go ahead and think that there are "a few cases" of police misconduct and brutality. i hear stories all the time. you can be rosy about them if you like, but they are an institution that is more interested in protecting itself than the general public. we live in a state police society, and that's just the actual truth.

nowhere in the rest of the developed world are the police force more willing to pull the gun from the holster and shoot you down.

It might depend on the area, but for the most part most things I've heard about cops is that they're good people. Yes they are scary, but you should only fear them if you're doing something illegal. If your life was ever in any danger, you'll be glad there are cops around that exist to protect you.

Only about 1.449% of cops ever cause any trouble (Police Brutality statistics)
Whereas 3.04 % face domestic violence. Therefore, police have less incidents than normal families do, and police are actually less violent than most families.

1.449% huh? i'm not surprised the number is so low, they are the ones who are in charge of "upholding" the law. of course there are good cops out there, but my natural position is not to trust them. brutality does not account for the underhanded dealing they do too.. it's a great gig to make yourself look good when you are part of legal enforcement.

i have no idea what the % of good cops are to bad cops, but i am certain there are lots of egotistical dicks who think they are above the law. more than any other developed country, americans live under a police state where they won't hesitate to empty their clips if they suspect that you even flinched.
