Core devs, please, stop adding new features and focus on making what's already there work right first!
As someone who works with it a lot during the day, I can tell you - it's in a very sorry state, nowhere near ready for mass adoption.

And what are the features now? Registering aliases and trading? That's all? What problems do you have?

No I am not talking about CRC! It's just so freaking unstable, that I am considering stopping the exchange until most of the glitches are fixed!

Same here. Someone took my name too. I am not sure if they don´t plan to scam people with names already active on Bitcointalk.

What is going on with coinmarketcap? Where does it take the price from?
BTW NXT has one less competitor, MSC. Bitshares is already history and know we will have 2 new entrants: XCP and eMunie! eMunie is a joke, XCP is great but PoW based (soon to become extinct while Bitcoin is sinking)...

What advice? Set my clock 2 hours back? It doesn't help with anything. Another transaction just went into aether. Not to mention constant exceptions, occasional client freezing, flooding with bogus transactions, blockchain file corruption and constant fear of the LostNxt. Let somebody else do it, I will just sit on the sideline for a while and focus on improving my core code instead...

I explained in the trading thread, in my last post: we should pull out stat data following from dgex and connect it to a more transparent honest exchange. dgex is revenging and manipulating the coinmarketcap now, probably to lower that 800K loss value in bitcoin.

What advice?
Here is one of the ways to handle deposits:1. U generate a string of 50+ chars. This is ur master passphrase, it must be very strong. Let's assume it's "secret". 2. Each time when a user wants to deposit coins u generate a unique ID, u can use user ID if it's not necessary to create a new address for each deposit. 3. U use "secret"+ID to generate a passphrase for the deposit account, for example "secret8475347836". 4. http://localhost:7874/nxt?requestType=getAccountId&secretPhrase=secret8475347836 will return the corresponding account id. U should give it to the user. 5. Periodically u should check if the address got incoming transactions - http://localhost:7874/nxt?requestType=getAccountTransactionIds&account=6975576163363041725×tamp=06. For each id in the list u can get transaction info - http://localhost:7874/nxt?requestType=getTransaction&transaction=834928368363387567. When u get enough confirmations (at least 10) u can increase user's balance. Some very important things:Blocks can become orphaned and transactions cancelled, so pay attention to timestamp and deadline values of a transaction. Timestamp is measured in seconds since the genesis block (24th of Nov, 2013 12:00:00 UTC). Deadline is measured in minutes. A transaction expires when timestamp + deadline * 60 < current time, it can't be included into a block with timestamp > timestamp (of the transaction) + deadline * 60. Current time can be obtained via http://localhost:7874/nxt?requestType=getTimeSo, to make sure that u won't lose the transaction u should check that a user uses large deadline and doesn't try to cheat u by setting timestamp too far in the past. Also, until a transaction gets 720 confirmations u should check it's still confirmed and if not (due to blockchain reorg), rebroadcast it to the network using http://localhost:7874/nxt?requestType=broadcastTransaction&transactionBytes=f11234bd3a2fc19c2ba6b7c0d108deea9fcbafda5f544e4648c651ec4ed34ed2. Transaction bytes can be obtained via http://localhost:7874/nxt?requestType=getTransactionBytes&transaction=83492836836338756. To send coins back to a user:Do http://localhost:7874/nxt?requestType=sendMoney&secretPhrase=123&recipient=2983475693816&amount=5000&fee=1&deadline=32767This request will return transaction id and transaction bytes. Save the both and periodically check that transaction is still in the blockchain. If it becomes unknown or unconfirmed then rebroadcast it via broadcastTransaction. Once it reaches 720 confirmations u can forget about it. PS: API is described here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=313082.0

NXT community,
We have one flaw that will show up again and again. NXT is and will be decentralized I think that is clear and that is the wish of its founder and creator BCNext. In my opinion it is impossible (at this moment) because at some point the chain will stop and someone will have to give it a good kick again, problem is the person who steps forward to do so will be associated with NXT. (people just jump in and did what they had to do)
Also we live in a visible world what you can touch or feel isn’t there. Our (NXT) creator is not visible. I am defender of the first hours of decentralization, this is also the main reason I believe in NXT. The code comes from beyond and we have to merge it at some point with the “real” world. This is In my opinion the biggest challenge for NXT to succeed. The bridge between the code and the “real” world. Who will be the translators for that? Do we need some kind of translators, ambassadors, foundation (many false defenders of the code will arise) or whatever you want to call it, or do we let NXT alone and let it thrive by itself. Case one will be to make profit in the short term, case two is for the long term. Any one? BCNext has done his work now we have to finish it, altough it is not easy to translate his genius in to words.

Propositions to counteract centralization of wealth:
-Forging a block bestows accumulating forging penalties on an account -Moving Coins bestows a timed forging penalty on receiving account, proportional to received coins -Client using transparent forging to avoid sending fees to a well funded account if desired
