People keep asking me about my plans, I'm a bit tired to repeat the same again and again, so I post it here and will be giving the link to this message.

I have a "draft" of BCNext's ideas, it's mostly specs for client part, some hints and some instructions that he left in case Nxt would need to be reanimated (hehe). I have some nxts (more than 1M) and I'm also working on a project that is supposed to run on top of Nxt platform (it's related to that IPO I tweeted about). So I'm going to write code for other features (Monetary System, Phasing, etc.) Also I'll be implementing Transparent Forging, I'm not in a hurry, so I'll be adding more and more steps in parallel with the features. It's quite interesting to see if this idea works in the end. I can't give any ETA coz I have to cooperate with Jean-Luc, who reviews all the code, and guys who r testing all the stuff on the testnet. After the 3rd of April my contract is over and I won't be spending 100% of the time for Nxt, more likely 50% in average. But I hope that this summer I'll have everything done.

Yay...kisses and flowers 2 u, mate. Said it before, but thanks for your work.

Nxt pump

or else the entire crypto universe is dumping everything to buy NXT......its a f**king slaughterhouse on coinmarketcap.com, a sea of red, with NXT just about holdiing, BTC down 10% and falling.

Good move, BrianNowhere. 10% insta-loss.

Yeah, if time stood still. I'm not looking for a pump and dump, which is all Nxt is at this point. If you prove me wrong I'll buy more later. Right now, if Bter and DGEX go down I'd be stuck with these stupid Nxt, which as soon as people figure out what I already know, which is that is no less centralized than Ripple, way slower, and that the system won't even work if the Nxt become too equally distributed (which is the goal) and not enough of them run open clients (which they won't), they'll be rushing for the exits. . I can trade BTC anywhere any time.

I want to be in on the next big thing and ironically enough, Nxt isn't  going to be it.

....

guessing its a bad idea from the lack of response?

I only scanned your post... but Automated Transactions are trustless escrows. Does this simplify your problem?

sorry i ment to include using automated transactions as escrow.. that way you dont ever have to trust a 3rd party.. and it would be retarded for a person to try and con the other as they will only loose money..

so to confirm all ya have to do is click a button that sends a message to the automated escrow and it releases said funds to buyer/seller..

why not make those trustless trading things like the way how games do their tradings. one party advertises their sale of btc for nxt and for it to be accepted both parties must send a confirm. and for it to be void, only one party needs to send a cancel.

A sells 1btc for 100nxt
B buys 100nxt for 1btc
account 1 = confirm
account 2 = cancel

A puts 1btc up in escrow#1
B puts 100nxt up in esrow#1
B sends 1nxt to account 1 to confirm buy
A sends 1nxt to account 1 to accept confirmations
Escrow release funds. Trading Complete.

A puts 1btc up in escrow#1
B puts only 90nxt up in esrow#1
B sends 1nxt to account 1 to confirm buy
A sends 1nxt to account 2 to cancel confirmations
Escrow returns funds. Trading Canceled. Each party looses the transaction fee.

Maybe need to make a few special trading accounts (escrow/confirm/cancel accounts) for this to work. But you should get the idea.
All multiplayer games are able to make player to player tradings trustless so why can't we do it here.

What happen and nxt is skyrocket
Any news?
Or china buy nxt now?

Yes, CHINA is buying nxt.
Just look at the trading volumes of all trading pairs on BTER, nxt is the top by btc volume.

nxt 261.00BTC
doge 143.70BTC
ltc 56.40BTC
zet 36.00BTC
vtc 22.90BTC

Just think how popular doge is with marketing and yet they are 100btc behind nxt in trading volume. Chinese are crazy.

U wanna guess how much NXT i'm sitting on?

Keep $250...u can spend that in one good night out, or a months worth of nappies, depending on your curent lifestyle.
Unless you're living in your car, u probably won't notice it.

I have the feeling that u are missing the big picture here and taking this thread as being the sum total of all NXT activity and deelopment, when there is a massive amount of stuff happening behind the scenes. Have u checked out nxtforums.org, that gives a much better picture of what is going on with NXT.

And look at the rest of the crypto world: are u dumping your BTC ?
Bitcoin has lost more value than NXT over the same period, is facing a whole range of problems and doesn't seem to be comng up with any answers.

C-F-B is the mainonly guy who is developing. whenever he's asked a question he gives a one to seven word answer that doesn't answer the questions at all. CIYAM is always arguing with James about something or other and both of them get all hissy with everyone else. Jean-Luc just officially quit the tech dev comittee and seems to be distancing himself in a big way. Most of the high profile posters here can't accept any criticisms and call people trolls who disagree with them. This is the community or is there something I am missing? It's like watching the keystone cops or the three stooges (but with more stooges)

I can take all the above in stride. What i can't take is the broken promises that suckered half the Nxt buyers in. Transparent Forging doesn't work. 1000 TPS has been taken off the table. Only the riches holders can forge, yet everyone is asked to run an opend client. Nxt is not what it is being sold as to thousands of people. It's a bait and switch. The marketing is lies and nxt is not capable of half the things it claims it is.
No one here is even worried about these things. Everyone is blissfully talking about the moon dismissing all user concerns about these things while Ethereum, Ripple and Counterparty are running circles around you.

This is why I have lost faith, all of us lost faith except big stakeholders.
[/quote]
absolutely agree, you are the key point guy.
this is the current condition of Nxt and community, and Nxt is never really decentralized from IPO to now.

Anyway is okay with me. But in thinking about the above scenario, I think whoever cancels should be penalized in that they have to pay all the other person's fees. Where as the person willing to finalize the deal but gets canceled on will get 100% back.

Just a reminder if you did not have done it yet.

Please go vote on the Nxt slogans (second round, some rules change!):
https://nxtforum.org/general-discussion/nxt-slogans-poll-(second-round)/

Note that you can now change your vote later after viewing the poll results and after reading the ideas in the poll thread.

Voting close: April 08, 2014

Before voting, you can read this (at least the first link) to understand what type of slogan is needed for Nxt:
http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-needs-got-milk/
http://www.simplimation.com/blog/9/how-to-create-an-unforgettable-slogan
http://www.inc.com/guides/201101/new-rules-of-writing-a-memorable-slogan.html
http://www.adslogans.co.uk/ans/index.html
http://www.adslogans.co.uk/hof/2003.html
http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Advertising_slogans
http://www.thinkslogans.com/slogans/advertising-slogans/

Nothing is official, but before posting in the poll thread, please read the first post of the thread. As damelon said, you can see this process as a game.

You can suggest new slogan that will be added on a next poll. But, in order to be listed on the next poll, you must read the rules which are given in the first post. Otherwise your slogan might only be considered as a brainstorming idea.

More importantly than voting, please consider leaving your opinion on the poll thread.

People are invite to critic the various slogans in poll! Come here and critic people ideas. But stay polite.

I'll post this message in the thread every couple of days for advertising.

Thanks

Do you mean the community that sits in here all day making fun of Emule, who can't agree on whether floating point can be used or not? the community whose lead developer just resigned from the TechDev committee? The community that ridicules stakeholders who come here with concerns and call them a troll and put them on ignore lists? The community who comes up with a completely different coin as a ruse to try to encourage small holders of Nxt to (not) forge and then kicks their feet and threatens to quit when not everyone thinks that's the greatest idea in the world?. All trying to develop in a decentralized manner for an ecosystem that requires large stakeholders to run expensive VPS nodes and for small stakeholders to run open clients for NO reward or to collect nodecoins that have no value? That's the community that's supposed to make me feel so much better that it's own creator abandoned it to pursue bigger and better thinsg?

Oddly I don't feel better.

Literally every single one of your points are purposefully mis-interpreted and/or plain wrong:

Quote
Do you mean the community that sits in here all day making fun of Emule, who can't agree on whether floating point can be used or not?
Only in this thread. BTW, why is the second part bad? Are you saying we should not have discussion and instead make fun of Elmo all day? Wait, you don't want that...

Quote
the community whose lead developer just resigned from the TechDev committee?
Okay, I hope you're just being ignorant here. Really. Someone posted a link earlier about this, take a look at it.

Quote
The community that ridicules stakeholders who come here with concerns and call them a troll and put them on ignore lists?
Hm, when was the last time that happened? Btw, I have no one on my ignore list, are you seriously suggesting we, as a community, are responsible for how individuals manage their individual ignore lists?

Quote
The community who comes up with a completely different coin as a ruse to try to encourage small holders of Nxt to (not) forge and then kicks their feet and threatens to quit when not everyone thinks that's the greatest idea in the world?
"Ruse"? It seems everything is a "ruse" or "bait and switch" for you, isn't it? I guess people trying to solve problems is considered "dishonest"?

All trying to develop in a decentralized manner for an ecosystem that requires large stakeholders to run expensive VPS nodes and for small stakeholders to run open clients for NO reward or to collect nodecoins that have no value?
Large stakeholders do not have to run expensive VPS nodes. Btw, VPS nodes are not that expensive. Also, "NO reward" is a lie, and you know this. I'll bet 1000000 BTC that nodecoins will have some value, can I count on you to take up this bet?

That's the community that's supposed to make me feel so much better that it's own creator abandoned it to pursue bigger and better thinsg?
Damn, I guess BTC died too when Satoshi left. Oh wait...
(As mentioned earlier, BCNext has been gone for a long, long time)

Oddly I don't feel better.
No wonder.

Like I said a while ago, your initial complaints had some merits - but at this point, you have simply resorted to FUD disguised as concern. You can't call out the community as a whole - I certainly don't make fun of Elmo all day and I don't ignore people I disagree with - and then not expect to be called a FUDster, because that's what you are currently. You make big noise about dumping all your NXT, and then act surprised when people realize it isn't that large of a sum? I respect all stakeholders equally, but come on - if you're going to act this dramatic, then expect people to be disappointed with your antics when it turns out to be just noise.

A lot of work is being done (mostly off these forums) even if not everyone agrees with on all aspects of NXT. They don't have to. Everyone can contribute in their own way, and NXT will be stronger as the result of these efforts.
