Couldn't resist; one more;

*snip*

+1 to Fatih, nah, lets make that a +10.

May I suggest that anyone who downloads and uses some of Fatih's wallpapers make a small donation to him ?
It goes against my nature, but I'm gonna see if I can unlock an account (*sound of rusty hinges opening* ) and send him 100 NXT.

100 on its way 2 u, bro.....from the acc number in my sig.
Oooohhh,  that hurt, but F deserves it.

Thanks EvilDave!

Will make some more when I've got time. This one is also cool;

welcome to NQT

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Release 0.9.0e

http://download.nxtcrypto.org/nxt-client-0.9.0e.zip

sha256: e163a575eaee40bfb001395e53b73f412cc4078a633e449281a675090b5a76c0

Change log:

This is an experimental preview release, which will only run on testnet.
It will refuse to start on main net, so don't try it there. However, all
testnet nodes should be updated to 0.9.0e, so that we can start testing
transactions with fractional NXT amounts.

All transaction amounts and fees will begin to be handled in NQT, 10^-8 NXT,
starting from the NQT_BLOCK, which for test net is set to height 63000.
When we do the transition on main net, it will be done in several steps, to
preserve compatibility with older versions, and of course not to reset the
main blockchain. This should also be tried on testnet first, so expect at
least one more reset of testnet later. But for this release on testnet,
existing assets will again be deleted, blockchain reset back to block 63000,
and fractional amounts and asset exchange enabled immediately at block 63000.

Implementation details:
Internally, all amounts are handled in NQT, using Java longs (64-bit). The
database amount and fee columns will also be converted to NQT stored as
BIGINT. This change is for both old (before NQT_BLOCK) and new transactions.
Only when verifying the signatures, old transactions and blocks are
represented in bytes using int (32-bit) instead of long amounts and fees.
For peer to peer compatibility, transaction JSON for old transactions will
contain amounts both in NQT and in NXT.
To prevent overflows, all additions and multiplications of longs are done
using precondition testing methods, Convert.safeAdd and Convert.safeMultiply,
which check for possible overflow before doing the operation.

All relevant Java APIs have been renamed to indicate that the value returned
is in NQT, except for getEffectiveBalanceNXT which is only used when forging
and there it is needed in NXT.

The http API has been changed to accept amounts either in NQT or in NXT,
with fractional amounts received as strings in the http request parameters
and then parsed directly to longs. The returned JSON objects use NQT only.
All relevant http parameter names and JSON parameters have been changed to
indicate whether they are in NQT or NXT.

Asset prices are also changed to use NQT, instead of NXT-cents. But I have
not tested asset exchange transactions at all, I have only tested simple
send money transactions, so expect bugs.

Fractional asset quantities are not yet implemented.

most pp have lost faith with your answer, now you can answer your question by yourself.
Anyway, the fact is that Nxt is being dead.

....

guessing its a bad idea from the lack of response?

I only scanned your post... but Automated Transactions are trustless escrows. Does this simplify your problem?

sorry i ment to include using automated transactions as escrow.. that way you dont ever have to trust a 3rd party.. and it would be retarded for a person to try and con the other as they will only loose money..

so to confirm all ya have to do is click a button that sends a message to the automated escrow and it releases said funds to buyer/seller..

why not make those trustless trading things like the way how games do their tradings. one party advertises their sale of btc for nxt and for it to be accepted both parties must send a confirm. and for it to be void, only one party needs to send a cancel.

A sells 1btc for 100nxt
B buys 100nxt for 1btc
account 1 = confirm
account 2 = cancel

A puts 1btc up in escrow#1
B puts 100nxt up in esrow#1
B sends 1nxt to account 1 to confirm buy
A sends 1nxt to account 1 to accept confirmations
Escrow release funds. Trading Complete.

A puts 1btc up in escrow#1
B puts only 90nxt up in esrow#1
B sends 1nxt to account 1 to confirm buy
A sends 1nxt to account 2 to cancel confirmations
Escrow returns funds. Trading Canceled. Each party looses the transaction fee.

Maybe need to make a few special trading accounts (escrow/confirm/cancel accounts) for this to work. But you should get the idea.
All multiplayer games are able to make player to player tradings trustless so why can't we do it here.

Because there is a trusted server in the middle. Btw. we will have CCT some time after AT is implemented. Then you can trade trustlessly BTC and NXT.

I have a "draft" of BCNext's ideas, it's mostly specs for client part, some hints and some instructions that he left in case Nxt would need to be reanimated (hehe). I have some nxts (more than 1M) and I'm also working on a project that is supposed to run on top of Nxt platform (it's related to that IPO I tweeted about). So I'm going to write code for other features (Monetary System, Phasing, etc.) Also I'll be implementing Transparent Forging, I'm not in a hurry, so I'll be adding more and more steps in parallel with the features. It's quite interesting to see if this idea works in the end. I can't give any ETA coz I have to cooperate with Jean-Luc, who reviews all the code, and guys who r testing all the stuff on the testnet. After the 3rd of April my contract is over and I won't be spending 100% of the time for Nxt, more likely 50% in average. But I hope that this summer I'll have everything done.

+1000

People who easily freak out should not be into cryptos at all. It will take time but Nxt is the only one that can compete against Bitcoin, because it is way better than any alternative.

Agree with barbierir and I'd like to quote DoctorEvil:

[...] but NXT, like bitcoin, is an ongoing crazy experiment so IMHO folks expecting a smooth ride should GTFO.

Thanks for all your work CFB.

Guys you see, just like I said. We had 3rd part of plan which some people here got as negative and now this statement from CFB that is very positive. It is a roller coaster ride!  Cheesy

P.S. Respect to msin for a donation!

Keep up a good work guys!  Smiley

U wanna guess how much NXT i'm sitting on?

Keep $250...u can spend that in one good night out, or a months worth of nappies, depending on your curent lifestyle.
Unless you're living in your car, u probably won't notice it.

I have the feeling that u are missing the big picture here and taking this thread as being the sum total of all NXT activity and deelopment, when there is a massive amount of stuff happening behind the scenes. Have u checked out nxtforums.org, that gives a much better picture of what is going on with NXT.

And look at the rest of the crypto world: are u dumping your BTC ?
Bitcoin has lost more value than NXT over the same period, is facing a whole range of problems and doesn't seem to be comng up with any answers.

C-F-B is the mainonly guy who is developing. whenever he's asked a question he gives a one to seven word answer that doesn't answer the questions at all. CIYAM is always arguing with James about something or other and both of them get all hissy with everyone else. Jean-Luc just officially quit the tech dev comittee and seems to be distancing himself in a big way. Most of the high profile posters here can't accept any criticisms and call people trolls who disagree with them. This is the community or is there something I am missing? It's like watching the keystone cops or the three stooges (but with more stooges)

I can take all the above in stride. What i can't take is the broken promises that suckered half the Nxt buyers in. Transparent Forging doesn't work. 1000 TPS has been taken off the table. Only the riches holders can forge, yet everyone is asked to run an opend client. Nxt is not what it is being sold as to thousands of people. It's a bait and switch. The marketing is lies and nxt is not capable of half the things it claims it is.
No one here is even worried about these things. Everyone is blissfully talking about the moon dismissing all user concerns about these things while Ethereum, Ripple and Counterparty are running circles around you.

This is why I have lost faith, all of us lost faith except big stakeholders.
absolutely agree, you are the key point guy.
this is the current condition of Nxt and community, and Nxt is never really decentralized from IPO to now.
