Deadline is used in the following manner:

1. U send a transaction with 1 NXT fee and deadline 5 min.
2. If ur transaction is not confirmed coz fee is too low, then in 6 minutes u send it again with higher fee

To assign an alias in webbrowser u must do:

No. I expect we see competition for aliases like Apple, Bitcoin, etc. so u'd better set higher fee leaving deadline = 5 to be able to set even higher fee if ur transaction is not confirmed in 5 minutes.
