So I certain I'm entirely daft, but could anyone better explain the alias system... Or make a guide with picture for it?

what i don't understand about the alias system is the "deadline" and the "confirmed/forged".

If someone get Google at block 22001 because he is the highest bidder, can someone still oubid him in the next blocks?

is the lack of concrete information because of people wanting to get all the domains for themselves?

sorry for trolling but its just simple what i ask

i ask for an alias. timeout means that after the timeout i will know if i got the alias or not?

please explain clearly this stuff before it starts.

Timeout? U mean deadline?

yes please explain how this works and how/when am i completely sure that i got the alias. after the deadline or immediately.
also if checking while the deadline is not reached if i see i didn't get the alias can i bid again with higher price?

why is this shady? please explain all these and not just announce "listen ppl try to get aliases".

nxt is until now a just currency although with closed source code which some people dont like.

at least be transparent about aliases.

If you follow NXT development closely, you will see that all the information has been given out at one point or another. Code from Beyond has been extremely accommodating and answering every single question directed to him. Sometimes twice or third times.
Nxt development has been at lighting speed so far. Things are changing day by day and that is the reason no one has the time to compile an unified and official source of information such as NXTwiki or guide. Nothing shady here. It is just you are at frontier and it is normal there is no available guide.
Feel free to voice detail and technical questions, Code from beyond will happily answer you.

i dont agree sorry.

in the last 4-5 pages i have asked the same questions 3 times and i have been ignored by code from beyond.

also sorry but when you announce a complicated feature with a start in the next day or so, you need to have at least some technical answers ready and a guide.

releasing it and waiting for people to ask questions that you may answer and may not, is not only amateur but shady.

the only thing that was released is the alias.html and that we can use it to register aliases. all other info comes from random questions from members here. this is not fair for example many ppl would be searching the nxtforum itself for guides.

Before Code from Beyond join in, here is my attempt:

1. After you register an alias, you will get confirmed if your request is selected in a block but it could be orphan block so you need more than 1 confirmation to be sure

2. After deadline your request of an alias become invalid, if it is not confirmed yet than that means the request did not get on a block (because the fee is low comparatively)

3. After deadline you can increase your fee to get on a block again

4. I am still unsure how long do you wait to get the result if your alias has been taken by someone else ?? so you can move to other alias Code from beyond ??

U get alias when a transaction is confirmed. There is a chance that some blocks will be orphaned so u have to wait for 720 confirms to make sure.
U can bid again with higher price as many times as u wish. No need to wait for a transaction to expire.
This is shady, coz deadline, fees and decentralized network is a sophisticated system.

The highest bidders get on the first block with their chosen alias. I think when the block is confirmed then that's it. The alias belongs to you. Code from beyond Huh

I think the unclaimed NXT should be destroyed.  It would do a lot for the price.

so you can move to other alias Code from beyond ??

If u need 100 aliases u have to send 100 transactions and better do it at once.

I've tryed to buy an alias before it started. For some reason it only works through https://localhost:7875/alias.html

If I use an address line, I get error: {"errorCode":6,"errorDescription":"Not enough funds"}

Ur passphrase contains symbols that must be url-encoded. (like # or &)

hmm so what does it mean ?

If you put your password in the address bar of your browser it cant read in properly.

it will work in the https://localhost:7875/alias.html

What is the secret phrase here?  Does it create a new account that is bound to the alias?

Huge flow of AS transactions will lead to traffic stalls and increased rate of orphaned blocks. If u see u got that alias u still can't be sure it will be urs in 10 blocks.

No. I mean, what does it represent?  What is it for?  Does it create another NXT account, to which the alias is bound?
