It's normal, I think.  It just means you tried to solve a block, but failed.

Version 0.4.2 of the client is causing problems on Linux.
Version 0.4.0 works fine.

On v.0.4.2 I'm getting this error time and again:

Loads of free memory ~13GB, and 4G of swap. Tried increasing the -Xms and -Xmx values. Using Oracle JDK 1.7 u45 on Linux.

Same here - no manipulations with -Xms and -Xmx help.
