I'm not a founder, however:

- I'm willing to spend a $100 a month to help protect it
- My time is limited, I'd pay if someone was willing to configure
- I bet there are other members in the community that are in a similar boat

Yes, that is surely true. If somebody has monopole in distributing of coins, then there is no difference to FIAT money as we know.

It is the total opposite in my view.  Why do you believe it is necessary for price to drop for coins to spread, while development takes place?  I personally did not witness any buying hesitation during the Alias launch yesterday.  Would you have made that claim before the attack?

It is as if you are forecasting a negative outcome and/or inferring that NXT does not deserve a high price.  That mode of thinking is only appropriate if you were to buy a Put option.  Who knows... maybe some exchange offers Put options one day, but I would definitely not buy one!!!   Wink

I mean... look at how many people are automatically willing to set up servers just because one problem arose.

The only thing can kill Nxt - bad design in distribution of coins. I support everything that helps to spread the coins.

Nxt still can't be printed at will.

why is there such a tremendous gap between sell and buy?
Nxt deposit at dgex was disabled for half a day, because of ddos attack, just got enabled again, the market will start to move again soon.

Wish I had some leftover BTC... how foolish of those to be letting go of their NXT at these prices!?!

same to me. i always deposit BTC and purchase Nxt instantly. theses prices are truly attractive.

Longest chain always wins, but if a node on a branch with 720+ blocks it can't choose legit chain without manual work.

Why is this?  That sounds like a huge flaw, where things fall back to centralisation.  You'd better fix it.

what version is best now, 0.4.3e?

0.4.0 or 0.4.3e. 0.4.2 has CORS enabled and subject to attack from millions of innocent Internet surfers.
- I think we must test thoroughly every new version on test net (including the simulation of zombie attack) before publishing it.  I am intentionally bought separate VPS for this. I had installed v.0.4.1e, but without long testing it becomes 0.4.2 ...

May be we all need to install 0.4.0 ?  Could you re-publish it ?

I can't, don't have its copy.

Then build one!

But NXT is already printed and held by few.

Ask cunicula. That sounds like a good approach that removes necessity in checkpoints and supports decentralization. We'd better leave it as is.

This won't be 0.4.0 then, but rather 0.4.4.

Can we make a kind of site helping users to do this?
I will try to raise funds from big stakeholders and support this - it is better if you work together I think with laowai80 too.
We need to fight this zombie node apocalypse with full force combined!  Cool

But do you think people could be interested in NXT in long term in this case?

Especially if other currencies could add decentralised exchange feature in the future.

But NXT is already printed and held by few.

But the few can't print more.

Somebody is purposely selling small amounts of NXT at a time at the minimum sell value to make the price seem low, while the bid/asks are rising.

Though maybe that's not too terrible, we need to give time for the price to find a comfortable support level, so the next price rise (source code or transparent mining) will be even greater Cool

Hey guys,

Check out http://www.nxtcoinflip.com/

It's a new NXT gambling site, similar to other cryptocurrency games.

It's cheat-proof, the password used to generate the results is posted after a certain amount of 'turns'

Nice work
