Once again i see that the NXT server is not stable. Right now inside the account i see 700+ unconfirmed transactions, my balance is 0!, but i see all my incoming transactions..  I know i can fix this by deleting blocks and transactions txt with restart, but should i do this every few hours?!

Is someone else have the same problem?

Does F5 help?

No.

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

I think a better idea would be to IPO the service providers/gateways

for example: USD/NXT gateway could issue Nxt in IPO....people can buy a share of the company and get a monthly dividence of nxt based on there holdings.

It is real.

"Here is an example

I want to run a business.  I issue an asset (let's call it Krusty Krab tokens - KKT).  I set quantity of KKT to 1000.  I announce that I sell KKT for 20 NXT each and pay 5 NXT monthly interest within next 6 months.  I create an ask order -- 1000 KKT for 20,000 NXT.  You create a transaction that sends me 500 NXT for 25 KKT.  It's up to you what to do with your 25 KKT (you can place an ask order and sell them for 27 NXT) but each month I will check the blockchain to see who owns KKT.  And I will send 5 NXT for each KKT to those who owns them."

USD/NXT Gateway would charge service Fees and this would be divided up based on holding....USD/NXT Gateway shares would also be traded on Asset exchange

Peercover has many features mostly revolving around ripple
Recently btc/ltc gateway was released and nxt support was just added
Still beta test, but the idea is to get into the ripple distributed ledger for trading
That will be more resistant to attacks than centralized xchange

Another benefit is that once inside ripple you can also trade usd, cny, etc

With the only nxt xchange constantly being swamped by ddos, it makes sense to try distributed xchange

James

Hi,
It's great that you implemented nxt/btc exchange on ripple platform!
I registered, and your web says"it looks you don't have a wallet .......",
but I already have a ripple wallet, and I can not find a place to input my wallet address,
my wallet have some XRPs and I don't want create a new one。。。。。。
what should I do?

So, let me get this straight

1,000,000,000 (1 billion) initial coins
73 initial adopters
so roughly 13.7 Million each (assume equal distribution)
at 21 BTC Total
0.000000021 BTC per coin
current market rate is about 0.00008500

So, it’s that’s about 4,000x, or 400,000% more what the early adopters paid for? And it has only been a month? Are you serious? 400,000% returns? Now, this sounds too good to be true.

Am I missing something? So, at the only exchange trading Nxt, us regular folks have to pay 400,000% more than what early adopters paid for? Too bad fools can't do simple math. Correct me if I'm wrong!

Just for the record, actual genesis block NXT distribution was far from a 13.7 million coin average per founder.  It was very skewed.  The top block of 17% of all coins (170M) were unclaimed and later redistributed per http://nxtgenesisblock.appspot.com/ .  Apparently only eight paid the maximum 1 BTC during the initial NXT buy-in period.  They hold almost half (40%) of all NXT - that's right at 400M.

And yes, I understand everybody had their chance to kick in 1 BTC during the announced initial buy-in period, and didn't, and so missed the boat.  NXT did indeed have a more fair distribution system than most altcoins.  That doesn't mean the situation today is ideal - far from it.

IMHO, distribution of this coin to create a functional economy with true, smooth cash flow is the number one challenge this coin faces, far bigger than any zombie attack.

Distribution of this coin into the "economy" solely via sales at an exchange is going to be a very bumpy ride.   NXT prices are moving at hyper warp speed, currently way too fast for its own good.  Unless there is some serious dumping by top-tier genesis block founders to keep prices down, the amount in wide circulation is going to get choked off at a  very small percentage of the total because it's just to expensive to buy.   I'm no economist, and I'd love to hear from somebody who is, but I read a lot of zerohedge.com and the NXT currency distribution situation is truly scary to me.

But it's gonna be interesting to watch, that's for sure.

I'm on that list somewhere!! Wink

And yes distribution was very skewed. I am one of the lesser (way lesser) shareholders. At the time I took what risk I could afford and didn't want to invest anymore.

Also since my initial investment I have given away almost close to 50% of my initial NXT because I believe strongly in the future of it.

NXT VPS Server Donations can be sent here: 6044921191674841550
At the end of each month I will donate some of them back to the community.
This is separate from my main wallet so you can keep track of them. I will keep them in there and only use them for hosting.

Is it worth to run a node with around 1000 Nxt? Will I be able to forge anything thats worth it?

Yes.  Sometimes the base target shoots up to 1000% or 2000%, you might get a block or two.

I think a better idea would be to IPO the service providers/gateways

for example: USD/NXT gateway could issue Nxt in IPO....people can buy a share of the company and get a monthly dividence of nxt based on there holdings.

It is real.

Here is an example

I want to run a business.  I issue an asset (let's call it Krusty Krab tokens - KKT).  I set quantity of KKT to 1000.  I announce that I sell KKT for 20 NXT each and pay 5 NXT monthly interest within next 6 months.  I create an ask order -- 1000 KKT for 20,000 NXT.  You create a transaction that sends me 500 NXT for 25 KKT.  It's up to you what to do with your 25 KKT (you can place an ask order and sell them for 27 NXT) but each month I will check the blockchain to see who owns KKT.  And I will send 5 NXT for each KKT to those who owns them.

Of course we want a usd/ Nxt gateway. But I fail to understand why it is so important. Soon you can sell/ buy Nxt at Btc-e, Bitstamp in both usd, bct and multiple other exchanges. They are centralized but have already worked so far and have certain trust of the communities.

What is truly innovative and disruptive about the Nxt asset exchange is to give internet start-up a direct way of raising money and growing their business in global scale.

Why did noone implement this on Bitcoin platform yet? 5 years have passed.

Automatic Public Node Update Script

I just wrote a simple python script that fetches a list of public servers I collect in a text file and puts them into the NXT server config. This is the node file.

You can find it on my node server.

Usage is quite simple. The only prerequisite is to have a symlink to the config file (web.xml) in the NXT rootdir:

Code:
~/nxt$ ln -s webapps/root/WEB-INF/web.xml configfile

I find this more elegant than drilling down into the dir explicitly. If you do not like this very much, alter the configFilename variable in the script.

When ready, just start the script:

Code:
python updatePublicNodes.py

Hope this reduces some hassle for node admins.

Rockt !!!

A NXT/USD gateway in the Nxt exchange would represent something like Chase Manhattan bank in the real world but decentralized....it would be profitable from day one cuz all USD/NXT transactions go thru it.

Edit:
Imaging the volume of fee generated by BTC/Nxt Gateway....this gateway should be the 1st Nxt Asset Exchange IPO.

so it would not be under the control of one individual...and anyone can buy in at anytime.

this IPO would see huge demand!

We've done with testing. Now all depends on when nexern completes his client.
