I just saw the warning and updated to .4.8, my balance is showing as zero but im behind on the blocks. I am super worried, my face is flush and I am scared! How can I catch up or see if anything happened? This would be really devastating to me if I got exploited with the fake client Post the recent blocks information here

Can we figure something out to support these things, so people who are actually promoting Nxt in the real world have the materials, a good website (marketing website, not a technical one, so a presentation site), and factsheets and goodies to hand out? Maybe we can pool resources as marketeers.
I'll have prepared a short Nxt introduce video, it could be also presented on Nexus7 tablet during the handshaking Business cards are in progress: - https://nextcoin.org/index.php/topic,1201.msg13532.html#msg13532They will be used in Miami conference: https://nextcoin.org/index.php/topic,853.30.htmlAnd then in Berlin: https://nextcoin.org/index.php/topic,1518.0.htmlWe might print and use some already prepared (but not completed) infographics: https://nextcoin.org/index.php/topic,1565.msg20180.html#msg20180Marketing googlesheet isn't updated yet, but there are also some names.. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AgAGADgnQcrtdHRrV3V3Z1lzOXVEMWtqdElUaEtqV1E#gid=9Based on the new branding, I could make business cards for myself for now. An up to date infographic would be great, though. The only one that would be useful from these (for my target audience) would be a seriously non-technical NXT/BTC one and a Nxt/Fiat one. The people who I will meet will be interested in new ways of payment and how safe it will be, not in any technical stuff. Basically : "How does/can this benefit ME from a seller/buyer standpoint?". I'm realistisic and know that I won't "sell" Nxt to these people outright in Feb, but I plan to ride the "fear" of BTC and the volatility issue that sales people will be scared about and point to the eco side from the other direction. Seeing as I'm going to meet international companies. The decentralised exchange will interest them, too. Cutting out the middle man is always interesting.

How can I catch up or see if anything happened? This would be really devastating to me if I got exploited with the fake client Easiest way might be to check the hash per the instructions on page 1 of this forum, with the .zip file you downloaded and used. There is a chance you installed the bad client and still retain your balance, some people have reported having the bad client and still being able to transfer out into a new good client. good luck, sorry to hear, and I know the feeling. btw. shouldn't he just close his client and check the hash before waiting for the blocks to load? *edit this... easiest way to see if anything has been "transferred out" without your approval. And then follow the instructions of the first page, open that hash checked new client, transfer what you hopefully still retain into a new fresh account. I just saw the warning and updated to .4.8, my balance is showing as zero but im behind on the blocks. I am super worried, my face is flush and I am scared! How can I catch up or see if anything happened? This would be really devastating to me if I got exploited with the fake client Just check your account below: http://87.230.14.1/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=1

Just make the world aware of Nxt. If something is good, it will sell itself. If not, it´s not worth pushing it.

You are right, it looks like right now - we need scientific papers and good articles with absolutely new ideas how cool Nxt is and could be. For now we are mostly only repeating some texts used for Bitcointalk crypto maniacs, but not for public. Then we can create useful infographics, videos, etc

Checksum on transactions seems to be absolute neccesity
You can't let things like that happen. Bug, crash and corruption happen and will always happen, so you need to be protected against it. There is millions of dollars transfered on the blockchain every week. There was a 10 millions NXT transfer yesterday. Imagine if it happened there?

Unfortunately due to the lack of support from the founders, with the exception of aldrin, I am forced to say goodbye.
I have worked through my vacation to come up with a strategic plan for NXT to get to 0.01 BTC and beyond. When the security issue came up, I debated with CfB who was stuck on "its impossible to add second layer of security because NXT is not centralized" to "API v2 will support second layer of security" Doesn't anybody see the significance of this?
I have pointed out the flaws in the addressing, came up with a solution, but not even acknowledgement from jean-luc and a few days later the same problem comes up again.
I have to make a living and I was willing to use up all my savings for living expenses while I worked fulltime on NXT. All I asked for was some incentive options, got only two responses. The more promising one was a "I will wait and see".
This lack of support does not give me the confidence to use up all my savings and I do have to make a living. I was one week late in discovering NXT, due to this I couldn't get enough to be set for life even if it does go up tenfold. Not sure if I will even be able to keep up with this thread, but I will try.
Goodbye NXT, I wish you luck in dealing with the competitors, bugs, usability issues, etc. without a strategic plan or anybody who is working on implementing the plan.

Just a friendly reminder... There will be a Bitcoin Conference in February held in Berlin. http://www.mediabistro.com/insidebitcoins/I am not from Berlin, but would love to represent Nxt on this venue. I decided to take 3 days off and fly over to Germany and use the opportunity to spread the word, let others know about Nxt and it´s features. I am sure that we all will benefit from having someone around at a venue like this. I am asking the community to support these efforts by donating to help fund the journey and the purchase of marketing materials like T-Shirts & pendrives with Nxt logo/slogan on them, printing some cool Nxt bills, and so on. I will document all the expenses and will make the spending of the fund transparent. I will also broadcast from the venue and post some pictures I received donations from 3 persons so far... I am asking community members, escpeially with big stakes to support this and help with funds AND ideas how to make Germany aware of Nxt. Even a couple of hundred Nxts will help. 11433600460445633305Thank you! Send some. I will send more after the conference and you show some photo of what you did
