oman im such a nerd for understanding that joke, if you actually just thought of that on the spot than you are a genius and that is hilarious.

If one can not confer upon another a right which he does not himself first possess, by what means does the state derive the right to engage in behaviors from which the public is prohibited?

Actually I don't mind the "meme" images (although the one with the guy holding the beer is already "getting old" - I hope we aren't going to use that for marketing).

It's the multiple screen snapshots that really annoy my browser (probably also because I use Private Browsing so they are not cached).

With CIYAM anyone can create 100% generated C++ web applications in literally minutes.

I just tried adding a width and height property to the bbcode img tag of the meme image above.  (img width=500 height=355)

Perhaps that will help keep the image from making the page jump around for you.

Anyone else posting images, please try the same with the images you post to see if it helps with making the thread viewing experience less chaotic.

One more pitch for diaspora*, along with obligatory screenies and dimension properties.

We could use diaspora* as an announcement board. I've already started #nxt for this, and posted sporadically this past week. Here's how it looks like:

Each post can contain links to longer discussions elsewhere. Posts can also be tagged with #hastags, which then allow you to filter. e.g. if you just want to focus on marketing announcements, instead of looking through all of #nxt, you could go to #nxtmarketing instead:

This way, you don't have to skim through every forum post. And you don't have to keep going to different threads and forums to keep track of everything, you can do it all from one place.

You can also alert specific people by using @. e.g. if klee joins diaspora using the same name, anytime we need more nxt, instead of having to pm, we can just type @klee in a post Grin

Anyone can make a post, there are no mods or admins or special/restricted privileges. Damelon, you won't have to constantly be the one guy trying to keep up with and summarize everything. If we use it for just announcements, we can keep it clean and tidy, so we won't have to keep repeating announcements like we do here.

diaspora isn't good for images though, apenzl's newsletter is much more suitable for that. Client devs, you can still use it to keep everyone updated about your clients, say on #nxtclients, if you omit screenshots/keep them small.

Why not give this a try? You can sign up quickly through my link, or go to the diaspora foundation homepage to learn more about it first (and also get more options). Remember to follow #nxt.

My NXT withdrawal from Vircurex has failed (message: "NXT withdrawals are not possible at the moment, please try again later”). The problem is that the NXT have not been refunded on my account, so I cannot try again.

Anyone had the same problem with them? I was a "test" withdrawal fortunately, just 42.5 NXT

Is the .5 in 42.5 possibly a problem? I might recall an early discussion where fractional parts were unsupported

Bugger me....is this the end of the thread?

It's always mind-blowing to miss a few days in NXT world, then catch up.
Err....what can I say about the last 60 pages?

Plenty, obviously.

@jl777 *hug* Good to have u back in the boat.....
BCNext said something like do not worry about NXT being popular (or valuable). Build a digital economy using NXT. People will use the things we can build with NXT. NXT is like the roads, plumbing and wiring. Not really stuff most people get excited about. We need to build the stores, buildings, movie theatres, even farms (like POPPP has) using NXT. Most people wont know or care that they are using NXT, but of course some people will realize the value of NXT is related to the sum of the value of all the things that can be built on top of NXT.

postplusplus

Asset Exchange/TestNet. AE has gone from an idea to a near reality over the last month. NXT rocks, it's such an amazing eco-system.
While I had a cold I went looking into mining as a simple distraction for a couple of hours, (got over 300 Noble coin now, YAY!) and what I really noticed is how few crypto's actually have features above and beyond the basic "use it as money" function.
Comng back to this thread is like stepping into the NXT century, when u compare it to most of the competion.

Bitcoin, Schmitcoin......I've stopped worrying about BTC and it's exciting life. There's a crisis every week, so no use getting excited about it. I think that the rise of crypto is simply inevitable, and we are going to see a tipping point very soon. BTC may not be the winner in the long term, but it's going to dominate the next couple of years.....then NXT will take over  Grin

Going to bed, here's the saddest guy in NXT land:
hi Come-from-Beyond

it is not real nxt?

not recevied nxt?

It's not real NXT.

Oh, yeah, and BCNexts 2nd stage...might read that tomorrow.

Always love reading ED's thread summary.

So cfb, how is the AE on testnet? how good is it performing? Did you think about tring to rally for a stress test? Like we inform all to buy and sell rapidly a certain asset on a certain time?

Will take me a while to climb up again, But where is a will, there is a way...

Aye, let's stress-test it. I'm waiting when u create 1000+ transactions, I need it to search for inconsistent cases.

BTW, the point of this post:
What does "DEBUG: will pop block 8651xxxx7465 at height 64293" in NRS 7.2 mean?

I asked the same thing the other night. I think Jean Luc said it was a more verbose way of saying an orphaned block was being popped.

As promised on the AM Contest after 2 weeks publish the source code of my project nxtDB

Why is it necessary?
NXT is a decentralized and anonymous system. So why do we need to disclose it? Let’s think. Suppose, you have an online store where you take NXT as one of the types of payment, it means you have one or more account numbers, which are published on your site. The buyer should transfer a specified amount to this account number, without any possibility to check it. Why should he check it? Suppose, your site was hacked and hackers edited your account number, 1-2 digits were changed, so, it can be complicated for the buyer (even for you) to notice that the account number was changed, and you won’t get any money. That’s what we need a partial disclosure of anonymity. And this is just the simplest example.

Another example of the use - Chat with authorization by NXT token (http://nxtc.ru) . Instead, the account number, you can use information from nxtDB c using API (If the author adds this functionality).
Example:
Code:
Request: http://nxtdb.info/api.php?a=info&type=nickname&id=13506390574400724639
Answer: {"accountID":"13506390574400724639","nickname":"scor2k"}

Source code on GitHub

Thank you for your attention

I just made a statistic about nxt balance distribution.
the current percentage of top100/top500/top1000/top2000 acounts are 82.7%、96.6%、98.9%、99.7%, respectivey,
the variation curves is as follow:

there're about 22k nxt accounts for the time being, among these accounts, there're 15k  whose balance are more than 0.
among the 15k accounts, more than 60 percent have less than 10 balance:

current Gini coefficient of nxt system of top100/500/1000/2000/6000/15000 are 0.5、0.79、0.86、0.92、0.97、0.988 respectively:

No idea how to read this... I assume a lower Gini coefficient for the top 100 is 'better' for overall distribution and health of the Nxt ecosystem?
