I don't understand where your problem is x8008. Land of Bitcoin has full right to demand what ever he wants from you if you want to be listed on his site. And there is no reason for you to use such a bad language.

Well, hopefully there will be at least one who purchased the code, coming online soon... there's BitChest too...

With multiple Microwallet-protocol sites tho, I hope there will be a means to distinguish between them, so should a faucet change from one of the clones to another clone, it'll be easily noticed... so I don't end up sending my dust to a username account on one of the clones when I don't have an account there.

I'm having trouble following this all.

Can someone please provide a simple summary?

As I understand right now, Microwallet is closing down forcing faucet sites to change to different 'wallets' but are selling source codes so that something similar can easily pop up and then faucets just need to change the destination address or something?

>Trustworthy users buy script.
>They start services.
>Microwallet shuts down, listing said services on their website.
>Faucet admins change their scripts by deleting and re-downloading 'microwallet.php' and perhaps changing minimal amounts of script.
>Everything is back to normal, with 2-3 Microwallets instead of one.

The one thing that actually concerns me that , when you need to make a minimal amount of 5k give or take satoshi to withdraw , with 2-3 that will be 5k for each of them. So that will take longer comparing to one microwallet instead of 3. Of course there is a trust factor , we all trust LoB (even tough I am his direct competition (jk I am not even close to him) ) and we need to trust new ones as well , tough that doesn't sound that terrifying if I know him I know he will select 3 trustworthy good people to operate it.

I had the same concern and discussed it with Land of Bitcoin. Each of the 3 services can have an api account on the other two services and deposit bitcoins. They can then transfer a user's dust amounts to either of the other two services in the event a user wants to consolidate their satoshis in one place. Click button, funds all go to microwallet service A from service B.

Let us look at this logically... If microwallet.org is/was offering it as a free service, what would motivate 3 others (who would replace microwallet) to also run it as a free service? There would have to be some skimming/commission for most people to be interested.

So, for example, I could easily run it, I have physical servers to run VMs for redundancy, balancing etc, all in a high tier data centre but if I had to spend time and resources I would need ROI, otherwise it would die (eventually) with no income, which appears to be somewhat the case here.

I would suggest that if it is becoming a chore to run the service to charge a handling fee, I am certain they would get many transactions passing through so a few satoshi per transaction would be a nice revenue stream. Especially when you consider many saucets give out over 100 satoshi every dispense, it would mean maybe one more dispense before someone would cash out, there is also the advert method, but not too many people would be looking at their balance after every dispense... so limited revenue there....

Thoughts?

My concern as a potential buyer of the scripts was exactly that, how much time/maintenance is involved. I asked that of Land Of Bitcoin and he said he would be putting up an FAQ that would answer my questions. It is not up yet.

I am all about solid automation, the more the better. Personally I wont buy the scripts if it requires too much of my time, even if I can monetize it.

Concerning that they want around 2,000 USD as per https://www.microwallet.org/index/sale as that would put off most potential buyers, especially if the expectation is that there will be no revenue and time in maintaining it.

I would be happy to run it on one of my TLDs or a sub domain of a TLD I have, and would be good to have them around for a bit to bed it in. Once operational my plan would be to monetize it with a small commission to help with costs and feed some to the dev for their work and effort, which would foresee ably be more than the 4btc asking price over time but then I would also expect minimal maintenence, such as more along the lines of monitoring and backing up, etc.

Well there is my unofficial bid.... Smiley

One big selling point from my side would be that I do not need to prove ROI in a short time as it would be set up on a VM with no real cost to me, as I already have the rack space and data being paid for for the other VMs running on the servers, so it would piggyback off the existing hardware and connections (ok, so it will cost me an IP address... I don't use all of my allocation, so no issue).

I'd definitely be interested in purchasing the code as well.  My concern however is that one 'microwallet service' is going to get all the traffic and the others are going to just die out.

I was thinking the same thing, only 1 service will get all the traffic the other ones will suffer and be pointless

Yes I can see this happening as well. But could it be part of the plan, where the best stands out and the others fade out?

At the same time, having 2 or 3 microclones also makes it impossible for any one of them to monetize if they wanted to, unless they all got together and agreed to do the same thing with the same prices. It is impossible for any single person to monetize because once one adds monetisation, users will go the site that provides them the best bottom line.

So my point is, good luck for anyone who is interested in obtaining the scripts with the idea of monetizing it. It won't work. It will only push users away.

This leads back to the question of how much time/maintenance is required for something that will not be able to be monetized?

seems to me that with the 1 ad on the main page of Microwallet they are getting about 0.15000001 BTC per day. Seems pretty good to me.

I would like to announce Microwallet.org. This is a Bitcoin micropayment cache designed for faucets.

Firstly, try out our example faucet which is using the Microwallet API:
http://microfaucet.microwallet.org/

So as a user:
- You don't have to do anything, you can use your Bitcoin address.
- When you receive bitcoins from a faucet, it stored temporarily in your Microwallet.org account (your account created automatically).
- Your stored bitcoins sent out *automatically* to your Bitcoin address as soon as you reach the withdrawal limit which is 0.00005800 BTC.
- You can't deposit or transfer, withdrawals are automatic and you can't stop them.

Information for faucet owners, we have a free API and a free faucet script:
https://www.microwallet.org/api

Basically, you can have your own faucet in minutes.

Microwallet.org only credited half of my coins that i sent. Tried emailing with now response. Whats going on?
